even though i'm mixing stuff with them, they are not doing a thing for my hair and I have been doing it 3 times a week. I have tried all the ones the ladies have raved about and my hair tends to feel a bit wirey when i'm done. So far the indian products are the ones that is making my hair feel like I'm not killing it but these bargain conditioners have me kinda nervous now. Yes, i'm adding oils to them too. I WANT LONG HAIR:cry:

i dunno but when i cowash with something like a vo5, i don't add anything to it at all. i figure that since the conditioner has such a low amount of cleansing ingredients to it, adding extra stuff would totally negate this mild cleansing action.

then again there's lots of folks here that just do not like the cheapies, that's why i say i just don't know.

hopefully some of the other ladies can chime in.

i thought adding oils would make my hair softer when i rinse it but it's not. :nono::perplexed:ohwell:

I only use cheapies for quick conditioner washes, they're not good for much else IMO. I would never try to DC or comb my hair with VO5 or Suave.:nono:

Keep searching though, finding the right mix of products is definitely a process that can take time.

IMO (or for my hair atleast)...cheap conditioners are only good for co-washes & prepoos. They're good for that extra moisture boost btwn my main wash days...but that's about it. I used to try to get the best out of products like Suave Humectant & VO5...garbage!!

but i agree with MizAvalon. just keep searching for a cheap conditioner that works on ur hair. And don't get caught up in mixing other things with it just b/c many on the board do. I ended up not even needing to add anything once i found a good cheapie that worked:yep:

have you only been co-washing? your hair might be in need of a good clarifying session.

other than that... i dunno...

Yeah.....they are only good for gentle washing. You cannot deep condition with them because they do not penetrate the hair shaft. So, invest in a conditioner that says it DEEP CONDITIONS for the conditioning effect.

I had to let the cheapie's go. I mixed all sorts of stuff with them but they just didn't work for me. My relaxed hair unfortunately has expensive taste. LOL

i've never had a single problem using certain cheap conditioners. some work just fine for me, however, others don't. the whole herbal essences line (except for Hello Hydration, which was pure crap) has worked wonders for my hair straight out of the bottle. same with most v05 conditioners.

but because they aren't DEEP conditioners, i'll just leave them on my head for a few minutes and rinse them out. like it was mentioned earlier, don't be afraid to invest a bit of money in a GOOD deep conditioner.

for me, adding oils to my hair ends up weighing it down when i go to style it. oils aren't for everybody. also adding certain things to conditioners can kind of ruin their effectiveness.

I am picky when it comes to cheapy cons. My favorites are the White Rain coconut milk, and the V05 with the pink cap I can't recall the formula. I think it really depends for me on what all is in it and what I'm doing with it. I CO wash with the super cheap stuff and DC with something else.
