Hey everybody, I was wondering if you guys do pretreatments for relaxers? I did a search for this topic but I just come up with ones before shampooing, do you guys use the same ones? Is it unsafe? If you do what do you use?

I forgot the name of the relaxer btu it comes with a pretreatment. I have used lustrasilk in the past. But I think any mild condioner will do. The point of a pretreatment for me is to put it on the already relaxed hair so the relaxer does not overlap. I hope that helps.

They say that Revlons Porosity Control can be used in this way too, but Ive never tried it because I dont relax my own hair. Perhaps BRH has tried it this way...

Affirm and Fiberguard have pre treatments as does the deep brilliance line. i have used the pretreatments. Does it make a difference? As far as my eyes can see, no. But hey it doesn't hurt either.

I have used cholesterol, oil moisturizer, and olive oil to proetxct my relaxed hair (not combined but separately)

I heard Jojoba oil on the previous relax hair acts as a barrier. I use ORS olive oil sheen spray.
