I everyone am new here a lOOOOOOOOOOOOg time lurker. I was wondering if it would be ok to lightly press new growth so I can look decent at work. this constant bunning is making a ring of short hair around my head and if i make it loose I walk by a mirror and My hair is all over my head. :wallbash:I am tried of looking crazy but my hair is growing wonderfully. Please help me.:hair:

My old stylist recommended this to me many years ago when I was relaxed. I was too scared of heat to do it myself though. My current stylist lightly presses my hairline before curling my hair and it stays straight even in Florida humidity until I wash. So I say go for it.

You can also tie a silk or satin scarf tightly on your head overnight. As I've mentioned in other threads, I airdry in a scarf (rolling up the ends) to keep my newgrowth flat against my head. I learned this from Sylver2's tutorial. I'm 21 weeks post now and my hair looks nice and smooth, although there's quite a bit of ng--lots of wavies. I feel I could stretch forever and I can see how Sylver2 did 26 weeks +.

i tried the tying down tightly scraf thing ended up if bald spots which is how I ended up finding this site in the first place. I guess every cloud does have a silver lining:fairy:

Thanks

That's what I did until I finally ended up transitioning and eventually cutting the relaxed ends. I rollerwrapped and then flat-ironed the roots. It's explained in my journal.

Good idea, just be careful with the heat and dont over do it cause it can be just as bad as relaxing.
