I'm trying to learn which perservatives to use in my homemade hair products, lotions, and beauty products. Does anyone currently use them or have information on this topic? tia

eta: I'm currently looking at Leucidal Liquid @ Lotioncrafter

I know some essential oils are used as perservatives like: grapeseed oil and other ones I am not remembering now. If you look at aubrey organics site I think he talks about them. Off hand I know that vitamin E is a good perservative and oils citric acid or lemon can slightly perserve things.
Also look into honey that can perserve itself and perhaps other things when added.

I thought only grapeseed extract was the preservative?
I use either Tea Tree oil or raw Honey.

thanks in IntoMyhair and katlack!! I like the idea of using the natural items that you suggested.
