I'm getting a relaxer Friday. How do you all prepare you hair prior to a relaxer. How long do you wait to relax after a WASH??

Great questions mahogany66.
When I was relaxed I did not do anything to prepare for my relaxers
as a result my hair was in extremely bad condition. Now that I am natural and considering relaxing again I would love to know what the ladies here do prior, and even post, to their relaxer application.

I like to shampoo my hair and do a light protein treatment (keraphix, ORS Hair Mayo) about 3 days before a relaxer. I'll use a spray in leave in conditioner and a little coconut oil afterwards.
