It's not a good idea because there are certain vitamins (fat soluble ones such as Vitamins A, D, E and K) that if taken in excess are stored rather than excreted, and that buildup will cause issues. You'd be best off choosing one or the other and using specific vitamins to supplement whatever you want to add.
It depends. Look at the labels and compare. There's a regular vitamin I use that has better % of vitamins and minerals than a prenatal. I think choosing food based or raw food vitamin is a good choice. I noticed way better results using those than a regular vitamin.
I would say prenatal because it is also healthy for your reproductive organs. Not just for having children but maybe helping against cancer. I still take my prnatals and my daughter is 5 months.
Don't take both that's too much. Some things are water soluble like vitamin c are water soluble so that will go down the toilet, but done are fat soluble, I think like vitamin a so that builds in your system. Sometimes too much of a vitamin is not a good thing. I think the difference with the prenatals are that certain properties are amped up, like more folic acid. I say go online and go in the store and compare labels. I say you can't go wrong with a good multi or prenatal.
