I have a friend whose niece's hair is in terrible shape. About three inches of her hair in the back (starting from the nape and going upward) has completely broken off, and is currently natural. The hair on her sides and temples is breakin off and her hair is uneven everywhere. This weekend, I plopped about $30 for hair care products for her (couldn't get the ones I wanted to for her, BSS were closed)and did her hair. I wrote down a bunch of tips and I went over some hair care info. with her such as teaching her how to wash and comb her hair correctly, taking care of it from day to day, etc. I can only do so much b/c I don't see her very often and her mom just takes her to get is styled. It doesn't seem as if anyone is making a effort to focus on the health of her hair rather than how its styled. Suggestions or comments would be welcomed. THanks!

That was nice of you to do. I would also suggest a satin pillow case so she has no excuse not to protect her hair at night.

No, I didn't and even if I did, she wouldn't come on here very much b/c she's still a little young (only 11). Most likely, she wouldn't come on here on her own, but I do think that her mom, aunt and grandma would in order to learn how to take care of her hair. As far as the satin pillowcase, I had completely forgotten about that. I bought satin fabric and just tied it around my pillow so my hair wouldn't mess up, but I actually want to find a pillowcase for her. Any suggestions?
