Can someone suggest something that can be used to smooth back relaxed hair for a ponytail. I need something that would hold all day, could be used on damp hair and not flake. TIA

ECO styler gel. You can get it at Sally's for about 3 bucks. No flaking or hardness. HTH :)

I concur. Im natural but EcoStyler has always worked well. Relaxed or natural. And it's easy to find.

Any of the Proclaim gels that you can get at Sally's. My favorite is the Olive oil formula.

I like bee mine curly butter. Doesn't give a hard hold but it holds my nape and edges when bunning.

Gel I would go with Eco Styler or Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

I sometimes use pomades as well such as the Kinky Curly Pomade and the Oyin's Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade.

I use a leave-in lotion and tie it down until dry. If I need more hold or smoothness, I use shea butter or grease on top of the leave-in and then tie it down.

ORS Edge Control...gives a firm hold, but isn't hard. Never flakes or stiffens the hair the next day. Gives great shine! I am never without it! It laid down my 9 months of new growth expertly! Application hint: be sure you smooth your hair and apply by rubbing bewteen your palms first to spread it out. I stays where you put it. I never brush after application otherwise you have to add more to lay it back down.

It works the night before with the scarf tie down or in the morning before going out the door. I prefer this wholeheartedly over gel, it seems to moisturize as well. My doesn't break or tangle and during the hottest days it doesn't run, like Luster's pink gel or Jam.
