Ok. So I have been using vegetable glycerin/water mix in my hair and have been loving it. But just a week ago I used it and voila my hair went from soft and luxurious to hard and crispy as soon as I went outside in the cold air. I freaked out and saw why this happened on one of the threads so therefore I won't be using this in the winter months. But what I didn't see was how do I get this stuff out of my hair? I washed it and it's still hard when I go outside then soft when I get back to room temperature. How do I get it out? Help please

Glycerin draws moisture from the environment so it's good when it's nice and humid outside. When it's cold/dry winter weather it actually draws moisture out of your hair and into the dry environment which leaves you with dry hair.
You may want to switch to a moisturizer that doesn't contain glycerin for the winter
