My 13yr old Men
I have a quick question. I am a relaxed head who also has dyed my hair about 3 mos. ago, I wanna get braids and I know I got to keep moisture in so can I baggie with braids???????

Yes and no...lightly spray your hair with a moisturizing spray, then cover with a plastic cap overnight, but don't use anything too heavy or thick b/c it will result in too much buildup in your braids, which will lead to loads of breakage when you are ready to take them out. HTH

I concur on the baggying. I've done it for years w/o problems. Infusium I believe is used to keep your hair strong as it has protein. It isn't meant to be a moisturizer. (**Just realized you know this already. Sowwy!) I'd suggest following the regimen on www.growafrohairlong.com. I believe along w/ the Infusium--which I guess eliminates the need for DCing w/ a protein or reconstructor--Robin recommends a braid spray. African Pride has been recommended a few times on here. I seem to recall a few people who used S Curl--which is probably what *I* would use if I used any products w/ braids.

Did you use Infusium w/o another leave-in?

I personally don't use any products when I wear braids but I baggy every night. I also wash my hair twice a week, with a focus on the conditioning stage. I can afford to do this because I do my own braids so can redo them if they get messy and I do this often enough to prevent matting. If this is your first time or if you'll not be doing your own braids, I recommend following the C&G method. I believe it is your best bet at getting a good experience with braids
