About 6 months ago I dyed my hair with a regular Dark n Lovely rinse. I had done it before so I figured I'd be ok. Ever since then, my hair isn't growing right, my scalp constantly itches and even burns sometimes. I shampoo and deep condition my hair weekly as always. I've tried jojoba oil, kemi oil, carrot oil, hot oil treatments, cholestorol(sp?), braids, greasing my scalp, head & shoulders, etc... and my hair still seems to just stop growing and always itches so I can't keep a style in long. It's much weaker than before too - it breaks off easily. Oh, and I do get it trimmed. I keep it in braids or pony tails to avoid curling irons. I only perm my hair like 3-4 times a year, if that. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you had an allergic reaction to something in the dye. The only thing I can recommend is not putting anything on your scalp...give it a chance to rest. Try rinsing with distilled water mixed with a very small amount of acv rinse then just let your scalp breath. I would use the ACV only once a week....your other rinses should be just plain distilled water. I say use distilled water because your scalp sounds very sensitive right now and any chemicals or minerals in your water will aggravate it. If you feel you need to oil then I recommend using the jojoba oil only...

My mother had an allergic reaction to a rinse she used also. Her reaction led to a scalp infection though. If it persists you may need to see a doctor. I hope not though.
