PJs...Question

Okay, I have finally used up all the left over remainders of various products i have tried...I have been reading a lot about the Phyto shampoo line (available @ Neiman's and Sephora). I was wondering has anyone tried it, and if they did what were the results?? Thanks for the info!!

I think I'm the Phyto queen. I swear I need stock, b/c you know it ain't cheap!!! Since joining LHCF and getting texturized, I've used shampoo less and less, but condition wash every 2-3 days. I have 3 Phyto products that I will NEVER be without, they are:

1. Phytodefrisant Hair Straightening Balm (Eventhough I don't wear my hair straight anymore, it detangles and makes your hair more managable than ever! If you do wear it straight it's bouncy and super healthy looking. Every time I use it I'm impressed.)

2. Phytophanere (A great all around supplement, it even helped my skin! It doesn't claim to increase the hair growth rate, but it based on my body hair rate increase... it MUST!!

)

3. Any Phyto conditioner (I use Phytosesame and Phytobaume along w/Aubrey's GPB or Nexxus Humectress. Phytobaume is the lighter of the two and I think it's too light for my hair to use alone. I use Phytosesame when I want something heavier. I'm firmly attached b/c the Phyto conditioners have a detangler that really works (mallow, I believe) and that's saying alot b/c my hair is thick and it used to take me 30-40 mins to detangle. Now I can comb through in minutes w/o making sections and my shedding is minimal.)

As for the shampoo, I use Phytojoba. A stylist recommended the Phytospecific Optimal Hydration Shampoo, but it's hard to find. Phytospecific is the line that caters to black hair, so I'm sure it's most beneficial. I also use other products, like the Phyto 9, which is cool, but I started using natural oils and mango butter. I probably won't purchase it again. It does have a certain detangling property, but for the cost I don't find it that superior.

I also use some other products by Aveda and Nexxus (I'm a PJ too!) but I use Phyto stuff more than anything else.

I have to post some pics, I know. I'm taking my roll of film in this week.

This stuff is the GREATEST!!!! I don't think I will ever not use this.. it's awesome.. I've also only used the serum that is just like the defrisant.. it think it works great too but it's more expensive.. that's all that I have used..I'm dying to try Phyto 7 and Phyto 9 though.

I wondered about the straightening serum too, but I didn't really understand the difference.

If you get the 7 or 9 let me know what you think. I was all excited to get the Phyto 9 too, I was expecting it to be mind blowing like my other products and it wasn't. Reading about it makes me feel like it's good for my hair and it does detangle, but I think I could live w/o it. After I finish this tube I'll see if I miss it.

I also want to try the Phytokarite Hair Treatment Mask w/Shea Butter, but I can't fork over $32 plus tax when I'm buying other Phyto products too!!! I was debating it on my last trip and made the mistake of asking my SO. He asked me twice how much it was and then promptly removed it from my hands and placed it back on the shelf.

Do you use it with or w/o heat?

Rush: No, only the Phyto 9. I chose it b/c it seemed more beneficial, eventhough I wouldn't classify my hair as "very dry". It's really not "dry" at all. The 9 has some nut oil that mimics sebum in the hair (macadamia maybe? something from Hawaii), that the 7 didn't have.

Liyah: Thanks! I will. They haven't disappointed me yet.

Okay, so this sounds like something I should try. I am currently using up my Aveda Sap Moss...I have heard that it has wonderful results for some, but not to spectacular for me except for the pre-shamp. So that's what prompted my thread. Know if I just wanted to start out with Phyto, what are the basics that I need? I need guidance as to what to buy considering how pricey $$ it is, I don't want to buy the wrong stuff!!

I've used Sap Moss too. Still have some left, but I HATE the smell. How do you wear your hair? I think it depends on your styling preference. I would recommend the defrisant to anyone. I think the other choices depend on the condition of your hair. My hair is in good shape, so I use the Phytojoba, but I think Phytorhum sounds lovely and will probably be my next shampoo purchase. I'm sticking w/the conditioners I mentioned above and adding the intensive mask too.

I used Phyto karite, and I just love it. Its quite expensive here, almost $25, but well worth it. I use it with no heat for 15 minutes and my hair comes out soft

To answer your question sengschik, I normally wear my hair straight with a slight bend from rollers, which may have something to do with it... No my problem, was I didn't feel as if the shampoo was cleaning my hair?? I know this sounds strange, but I didn't want to use a lot of it because I didn't like the smell either. It seems like I will be trying out the new Phyto line soon though. Two more washes, and I going to try it out. I know that if I buy it, and like it before I used up the other...I'll have a bunch of half empty bottles...lol

Yeah, I only buy Aveda styling products. I do have one of the deep conditioners that I really like, but again it has a musky smell that sticks w/you for days. So I use it sparingly.

The Phytojoba doesn't give a strong lather and b/c it is jojoba based you may not get the squeaky clean feel. But your hair smells fresh and feels clean. I shampoo twice w/it to make sure. They make other shampoos for hair that's worn straight, another for curly, dandruff prone, oil prone, frequent poo-ers, etc. I know the site was down yesterday, but I have the booklet at home so I read about other things I want and don't have.
