Pillar cysts or lump on the scalp

anybody else have (or had one) a cyst (or lum) on their scalp? i have one right at the crown area. i went to the Derm, decided to get it removed and chickened out at the last minute. now that it's 2 years later i want it out! if anybody else had one removed was it painful and how long did it take to heal? does it leave a scar?

I had a cyst about 3 inches in from my hairline right in the front of my scalp. I had it since I was a kid. When I was in my 30's I had it removed.

My doctor numbed the area with an injection. And he removed the cyst in less than a minute. No pain and no scar. No problems with my hair in that area.


Infact, until I read your post I had forgot I had it done.

oh thank you so much, fletgee!! i was afraid i was gonna have a scar and hair wouldn't in that area. I'm gonna call my doctor and make an appointment cause my insurance covers it.
