Would anyone happen to have pictures of the the alternate way to wrap hair(criss cross) which was explained by Emeraldsky in an old thread. I'm just not getting it.

I don't know if there are any pics floating around, but what I do is take my fingers and part my hair in the back into two sections. Then I cross them and bring the remaining hair up and around towards the front of my head. I hold it in place with a duckbill clip. I do the same for the other side. Then I take my scarf/ head wrap and wrap it up. I then gently slide the clips out! My hair is now at a length where I can hold the hair in place with my fingers on one hand, but it took some practice! After so many wraps, I part my hair slightly off center so as not to stress them same area of hair. Hope that helps. I don't even know if that is the right technique, but it works for me! Maybe someone else can help! I forgot to say in the beginning that my hair is all combed back.

Thanks for posting that link, Allandra. My daughter has been wanting me to try that on her hair but I couldn't remember how to do it!!

Where is kking, anyway?? I don't remember seeing any posts by her in a long time!! Anyone heard from her?

I think the purpose is that it doesn't come out flipped up on one side, and under on the other. My daughter gets so frustrated when I wrap her hair the "regular" way. It never comes out right.

I really like this method of wrapping. It's especially good for when you're air-drying but your hair hasn't gotten all the way dry and you're ready to go to SLEEP

Yes, I like the alternate wrapping method because my hair turns out much fuller than the normal wrap (on both sides) I will update my pics soon and show you all.

Your hair looks gorgeous! I'm going to try your wrap method and I'm looking forward to your new pics.

I used to do the alternate wrapping method. If you check out my straight haired photos in my relaxed album titled "more pictures of me relaxed" or something like that, you'll see. They are definately the first two pictures where I am taking shots.

skegeesmb, I LUV your rollersetting pics Tell me after you do the rollerset, how do you get it so straight. I always do fine initial rollerset, but then I can't get it straight without it turning poofy. Do you just brush it straight, wrap it straight, or what exactly do you do?

Thank you for the compliment!

When I rollerset, I brush my hair back and tie it down with a scarf. That does the trick. It's not as straight as it looks though. If I want it really really REALLY straight, I break out the Jilbere flat iron.

Thank you for your response!
So when you say brush it back, do you mean put it in a ponytail? After that, what do you with the ends? And does the scarf go around just the perimeter of your head? Sorry for all of the questions. Your hair is really pretty. I have to know your secrets

No problem. When it was at that length, I couldn't put it in a ponytail yet so I brushed it back took a scarf and folded it and then covered my hairline and tied it in the back. I can't really describe it, but if my hair was the length it is now back then, my hair in the back would have been exposed. So I think it goes around the perimeter of my hair.

Thank you again for the compliments. One of my secrets is a not so big secret here, I did protective styles as soon as I had a little length, and when it was shorter I would tie it up as soon as I got into the house.
