I am interested in trying this for my next touch-up. Would the natural ingredents cause any negative reactions with chemically relaxed, no-lye hair?

[/ QUOTE ]

No it wouldn't. Check out my response on page one for the ingredients. It is basically a no-lye relaxer.

Thanks!

I use index 2 and someone once told me my hair was fine, but I beg to differ. I have 4 a/b hair. I'm sure sengschick will tell you about index 1.

I use Index 1. It depends on what you want to accomplish and how resistant your hair is or isn't to relaxing. If you want straight, straight hair I'd say go w/Index 2. If you don't mind your hair air drying to a wave or curl pattern I'd say Index 1.

Oh crap. I just ordered from Hairboutique. I decided to get this because I think it might be better for my dry hair. I was planning on getting the Vital and I couldn't decide which formula so it's funny how I'm not getting it at all. Can't wait to use this.

Phytospecific is the best relaxer I've ever used! Don't think I could every go back to what I was using before. I only use the reconstructor after the relaxer, but I might have to try out on a regular wash day.

I also think because the quality of the relaxer is so good, it helps me to stretch retouch time without any breakage, and my hair looks good up to 12 weeks.

One more addict checking in - had to celebrate this find - a few weeks ago I was in one of those old-fashioned drug stores in Manhattan - the kind that has everything, including a high-end cosmetics counter - when what did I see but two boxes of Phytospecific relaxer for $40 each!!!! I grabbed them both, bought 'em and ran! Not until I got home did I see that they were Index 1, when I'd been using 2. Waited a few weeks, time for a touch up, worried that index 1 wouldn't be strong enough, ordered index 2 for $60 from beautysak.com. Thought about it, thought about it, ended up trying the index 1 - PERFECT!!! I just left it in longer and worked it more. Tho I ended up wasting that $60, at least I'm set for (almost) life now!

Do they sell the Milky Reconstructor as a separate product? Think I'd like to try it as a regular conditioner -

They most definitely sell the creme bath by itself. I was going to purchase it but I'm going to try it from the kit and then decide.

Well, the creme bath is a thick cream in a jar - the restructurer in the relaxer kit is thin and in a tube (and with no ingredient listing)...they do sell something else called restructuring milk on its own, but it's described as a light conditioner for normal to dry hair - but since there aren't any ingredients listed on the product in the box, I can't tell if it's the same thing!!!

Uh oh!!! Looks like I might have to get this. Esp. since I only plan on getting relaxers 4 times a year now. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

:::::

ETA: Does this require any mixing? Are the instructions in Spanish as well as English?

DSD Mixing is required. Directions are in French, English, and spanish. This is a french product I first heard about in France. It is heavily advertised in black Francophone magazines but I didn't think it was anything special until you ladies started telling me how great it is.

I think this is a keeper. I'm loving how my hair looks and feel. It's kind of early to definitely say but my hair feels healthier. Also, that milky conditioner is the bomb. My husband can't stop touching my hair. He says that it feels so soft.

My husband asked if I'm going to get it again because I told him how expensive it was. I am definitely getting this one again. If I find a sale I'm stocking up too.

I bought the PhytoRelaxer recently. Since I am trying to stretch my touch-ups, I will not be using it until January or February. I am really excited though /images/graemlins/trampoline.gif.
