Am going to try the relaxer for the first time..am wondering if anyone has had bad results with the products that comes with it, ie the Neutralizing Shampoo, the Milk etc... what are u using to replace them? I have read so many good reviews and i really want to get it right....
Thanks alot in advance

The milky reconstructor can sometimes leave your hair hard if you leave it on too long. Away from that the relaxer is the bomb. I've been using it for over 5 years and has yet to experience any burns.. No tingling, burning or scabs, good product.

what did u replace it with?

I love the relaxer, but the milky reconstructer, not so much. I replaced it with Silk Elements Megasilk Moisturizing Treatment. My hair has thickened up so much since I started using this relaxer.

I use Phyto II and I do not used the products that come with the kit. I use Mizani as a base, Mizani PerpHecting creme mixed with some other type of protein/ceramide as a mid step (after rinsing out the relaxer and before neutralizing).

I neutralize my hair and then apply DuoTex overnight (with a garlic/aloe vera mix to my scalp).

Results?

Thick, moisturized hair with no breakage or shedding :yay:

I've read so much on phyto before deciding to try it.

-I have had no problem with the reconstructor but I would definitely DC with a moisturizing condish afterwards.
-A lot of people complained about the neutralizing process but I would recommend that you do an ACV rinse between the neutralizing shampoo and it neutralizes instantly.
-Another thing people complained about was that it left them underprocessed but someone recommended being generous when applying.

Hope this Helps.
Good Luck

Co-signing on the ACV (apple cider vinegar). I use it twice when neutralizing and get the white suds quickly!
