Phyto users.....do you think it's harder to overprocess using Phyto?

I've read that Phyto is milder than other relaxers. In theory it should take longer for it to process thereby reducing the chance of overprocessing.

Is this correct?

On average it takes me a few minutes longer to process pass my time limit (about 3 minutes). But thats not to say that the next time I relax that will be the case. I may have to rinse out early!

Each and every time you process your hair, you have to be careful and watch the time and your hair.

Thats probably not a definitive answer, but in this case I don't really think there is one.

When I use Phyto, i'm lucky if I even get fully processed much less overprocessed. I think it's easier to underprocess w/ Phyto then overprocess. I do love how my hair looks after using this relaxer. It doesn't burn nor leave that relaxer smell on my hair.

I would agree...its much much easier to end up with underprocessed hair with phyto than overprocessed. Not sure if its good or bad  I love Phyto though, its made my hair much thicker and i am not afraid of overlapping (although i try to avoid doing it)..if it happens a little, i am not so worried.

I agree with the ladies about underprocessing. I do think Phyto is much gentler compare to other relaxers I have used, which is why I think it is great for self relaxers. I'd much rather underprocess my hair than over processing it.

It's funny that you guys say that it's easier to underprocess with phyto. I left it on for the same amount of time I always relax for and my hair came out bone straight. I always try for 15 mins (since I have fine hair) but it usually ends up being 20 mins by the time I start to rinse. This is what I did with phyto. And I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) the directions said to leave the relaxer on for 20-25 mins for fine hair.

So it seems like my suspicions have been confirmed which is why I'll be using Phyto when I do my first self relax. I feel like I'll have one les thing to worry about since it's milder.;)

yes, 20-25 mins is the MAXIMUM time . I never left a perm on for that long, with other relaxers my hair was bone straight within 15mins.I relaxed my hair last week and left it on for 25mins and it came out bone straight, so that is why I say that it is easy to underprocess because I don't think people would NORMALLY leave a relaxer on their hair that long.

I like that fact that phyto takes a longer time to process because I dont have to worry about overprocessing since I am slow.
