So, I'm sitting in a conference this morning and, as usual, I am playing with my hair. This time, it's my kitchen. I was wearing a high bun, so I was smoothing my kitchen in an upward motion.

Well, when I brought my hand down, there was a 5 inch kitchenhair on it with a good sized follicle bulb on the end. (so, I knew it was shedding) I examined the bulb, examined the other end of the hair. Just generally took to studying this hair. Then, I began to extend and pull on it to test its elasticity and it's strength.

Don't you know I had to put PRESSURE on my pulling before it snapped and, when it did, it snapped the last half inch of the hair off and the rest just would NOT break! It was like it was elastic or something and was not going down without a fight!

I instantly realized it was probably my phytos (I've had 3 this year) and that broken end was my old relaxer which was much more damaging and weaker! Now that I'm thinking about it.....it also could have been the MTG but, ladies it was a very authentic, inherent strenght that the rest of that hair had to it, as though it had never really been damaged ever. I LOVE PHYTO! If anyone is considering the switch, I say, "GO FOR IT!" Any other 'CSI Hair Examiners' out there with success stories to share?
:bdance:

LOL, this is sooo funny because I thought I was the only one that examined my shedded hair, I have be keeping track of the shine, elasticity, diameter and smoothness, before I put together this regimen and begin to stick to it my hair strands felt bumpy and didnt have hardly any elasticity. Now they are blingin', smooth and thick, and can bounce back w/o snapping, I say :yay: for me and a  for you. HHG

Oh my...I'm getting a relaxer on Wednesday...I was gonna take Mizani in with me, but maybe I should hit Sephora up and get Phyto...:::sigh::: then I'd have to choose between I and II...decisions, decisions.

Congrats on the healthy strands Can't!

Thanks, DI. DI, is Mizani lye or no-lye? I am not schooled enough on the lye/no-lye debate to suggest someone switch to Phyto on that front, but if you are already no-lye, I feel very comfortable in saying, "JOIN THE PHYTO RANKS" and watch your hair react in a whole new and improved way to relaxing!

Okay... whew! I'm not crazy. Yeah, I test 'em, too.

Years ago, (more than 20) my friend wanted to have a "hair fight" (her idea!) She took a strand of her hair and I took a strand of mine and we pulled them against each other to see who's would win. Her hair whupped my hair's butt! Mine snapped in nothing flat. As I recall, our hair was pretty close in thickness, but hers was definitely stronger.

For whatever reason, Phyto, MTG, hair vitamins, or overall better care, my strands have so much more elasticity. The last inch are the weakest. I gotta take extra care of those ends and eventually cut 'em off.

I love Phyto. When I run my hands over my hair I can tell when the Phyto'd hair begins and ends. The difference is huge. I've used it twice so far.

Thank you for this, CantBeCopied. I have been researching Phyto for several months now - really considering the switch ( currently Vitale Life and Body, self tex-laxed). Your post has pushed me over the fence! The STRENGTH of my hair has always been an issue. I have fine 3c-4a that is naturally sandy brown in color. Something about that combo makes my hair unusually fragile... to the point where I sometimes feel afraid of it. I'm not due for a touch up until March (just did one 3 weeks ago, which left me scared of breakage) - I believe Phyto it is!!!
Thanks again for your thoughful comments.

...and yeah, I LOVE LCHF! Thanks ladies!!
