I posted a thread last week about how my hair was breaking off terribly becasue of a reaction to what was determined my relaxer not being washed out correctly. I have posted photos of the breakage.

I'm happy to say that I'm recoveing nicely, and I will post updated photos in about a week.

Im happy to hear that you are recovering from this well, All it needs is some TLC. :)

Jet, I'm so sorry to hear about your breakage. What are you doing to prevent continued loss?

Jettsetter I'm sorry to hear about your hair situation, but I'm glad to see you're recovering.

I meant to post in your first post about your "relaxer disaster", so I guess I'll post here. I was just wondering, do you think that your hair started breaking because you used a super strength relaxer. Eventhough, the super relaxer went well, do you think that once you applied the next relaxer that you had some breakage at the demarcation line of the super relaxer and the newgrowth. I hope that makes sense.

I'm basically asking, if you think the super relaxer weakened your hair, because it may have been too strong for your hair. Your hair doesn't look resistant enough to have a super strength relaxer. :ohwell: Just wondering.

Hey Kitchen!

Well see, here's the thing. Before the recent mishap, I had been using Elucence Super only because that dang relaxer is SO mild, that all of the others (meaning Elucence mild, and regular)would probably barely put a DENT in my hair. acualyy, te Super Stregth doesn't even really get it that straight. My hair still comes out a little wavy.

I think that not only was the Elasta QP Regular relaxer too strong for my hair, but being that it wasn't washed out all of the way made a bad situation worse.

My hair had been doing quite well with the Elucence Super so I doubt that it was the culprit, cause trust me, although the relaxer is "super" it's majorly mild.

Hi Webby!

well, for the past two weeks, I've been washing and deep conditioning every other day with Elucence MB and using aubrey organicgs, GPB. I feel that this is helping tremendously because I see that my hair strands are slowly getting back to normal. I was really scared for a minute cause my hair was in in such a strange state (which I can't even really describe) that I thought that there was no hope.

Webby,

Trust me when I tell u, I hope NO ONE will ever have to go through something like that, cause it's EXTREMELY mortifying. I guess that after you do such good things for your hair, see positive results, know what HEALTHY hair looks like, and then have that snafu happen, you can really be taken aback. I just hope whoever read my thread and saw what happened will learn like I learned that

A)chemicals are no joke and
B) WASH, WASH WASH ALL OF THE REAXER OUT because it's better safe than sorry.

Im sorry to hear this, but that Elucence Super relaxer pic really showed the diffrence.
Well ,we learn from our mistakes. Im sure you and the awesome ladies of LHCF will nurse your hair back to health. I had to learn the hard way too with color, that mess has set me back....way back!:cry3:

glad to hear your making progress! your hair still looks healthy to me :)
are you going to be sticking with the elucence relaxer??

I think your hair still looks healthy and very full. I'm sorry about your experience but I wanted to tell you that it could have been a lot worse. TRUST me. When I had a perm my damage was so bad. It would not stop breaking. NO product would work on my hair. Eventually it got really thin and I had to cut it off. Soon after the cut I got TWO bald spots. When I tell you it was bad it was BAD. Everyone would be like what happened to your hair? When is it going to grow back? And I don't know if you read the article that was posted here about a woman who permed her hair herself and the damage was so bad her hair will never grow back. Pieces of her scalp came off. So even though I know it's hard remember that it could always be worse.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this but things will get better. I noticed that you mentioned you are washing and deep treating your hair every other day to get it back to health. I would be careful with the protein cause too much can be damaging as well. My hairstylist told me that a great product to use after a relaxer is Porosity control. He said that it's excellent, it brings the hair back to normal ph. You should try this product.

LoL, Pooh, thanks! You see I had to delete that other pic with me mean-muggin' like no one biz. I was like, girl, that HAS to come down cause it ain't tha deep!
