yes, shampoo being one of them. Usually alkaline shampoos (those above ph of 7) like neutralizing shampoo or some harsh clarifying shampoos

Thanks! Do you know the names of any good ones?

Well actually neutralizing poo is quite acidic (pH below 7) because relaxer is very very alkaline (pH 10-13) and hair's natural ph is somewhere around 5. The most natural way of bringing back your hair's pH would be an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse (ACV diluted in water). You could also use Porosity Control (ph of about 4.5) HTH.

Which one is this? Is it readily available in places like Target where Nexxus seems to be sold now?

Used to be Nexxus Ensure. It may be called Color Ensure now. Its still the same stuff though.

Its got a PH of 3. I like the smell of it over Porosity Control.

Pretty sure its at Target, I know its at places like CVS and Walgreens.

Since everyone is on this BT craze I would suggest you try it. Sulfur is a natural acidifier. People use it in their gardens and on crops to make the soil acidic. Hope this helps

I am deep into research and learning about ways to better relax my hair when I do it the next time in July - that is my interest. For that purpose, it smooths the cuticle making it lie flat after the relaxer process which lifts it. I understand that ladies are using the Porosity control for that purpose, and I kow it is readily available at Sally's, but I wanted to know of other options. I also know that when you use a shampoo to clarify/chelate/detox, those also have a higher pH and the acidifying conditioner will make the cuticle lie flat after the shampoo.
