my mom loves this product, she would always let me use it too. it does provide moisture and shine but all you need is a little bit because it can feel heavy if you put alot on. it smooth down edges nice and ends dryness. but that is my experience with perm repair.

I used Elasta QP Design Foam as my main lotion on wet hair when I used to rollerset, but I would also spray in Perm Repair. I have some in my closet right now...it detangles well for me, and doesn't have any alcohol in it, which is always a plus. Needless to say, my rollersets always came out really nice.

Sounds good. Can I use it before flatironing or wrapping at night?

I didn't have a good experience with this product... maybe because the jar I used was like 6 years old sitting under our sink

I wouldnt use it before flatironing, but wrapping yes that is okay. I used this back in the sixth grade ...why I don't know. I thought it was going to make my hair like I got a fresh perm, but it didn't. It gave my hair a little bit of moisture and was good for slicking down and smoothing. That's how I wore my hair in sixth grade, a pony tail, so it was good for that!
