What are you doing now to enhance your regimen and hair style options?

man i'm changing my regimen to accomodate my budget cuz i'm broke!!!! cornrows, daily conditioner wash with 99 cent V05 or Suave conditioners, Surge, and B&B grease for my extra dry scalp. After the braids get old and ugly (every two weeks maybe) I take them out and deeeeeeep condition my hair. and put on a good moisturizer. this is the best thing for me right now to give my bun a break cuz it broke off my hair.

Practice, practice, practice is what i've been doing. I wash my hair twice a week and each time I remember what I did that last time and try to tweak it. I tied bantu knots last weeks and I loved it but the curls were too tight so last night I only did 2 knots. I took them down this morning and I think next time i'll need to do about 4-6 to really get the look I want.

The only thing that I am STILL perfecting is my rollersetting skills or lack there of I should say. I think I may need to try different rollers. I also want to try a strawset but im not quite sure on how to achieve that. Also on my list are comb coils but right now I think my hair is too long and a spiral set with perm rods. I just have to find the time to do these things.

As far as my regimen I just need a few more things (jojoba oil, vo5 shower works hot oil treatment, and EVOO), other that that im happy with my regimen.

I'm perfecting braidouts. They are getting better each time I do them.I am usually a real plain jane type who only wears a pony but I have bought a CHI to flat iron occasionally.
I've also started buying cheaper products. The expensive hair products don't appeal to me as much anymore

i'm trying different products to find out which ones work best for me. since joining this board last month i've found one thing so far that works: using EVOO on my ends. i tried that for the first time yesterday and i LOVE it! but i would like to perfect rollersets/rollerwrapping. my rollerwraps are slowly but surely geting better.

Katie- The $$$ products don't appeal to me anymore either. I like to add my own little touch to the products that I have anyway.

My hair is very fine and 4a. Everytime I go to the salon, the stylist and the assistant advise me not to leave in a lot of products because they'll weigh my hair down, make it sticky, and glue it together. So lately I've tried not to goop or spray on a lot of heavy, sticky leave-ins.

Since the last rollerset, I shampoo with Breakthru, condition with Elucence MB, and airdry my hair in 4 braided sections until it's just damp. Only then do I comb it and either put it in a bun or wear it down in ringlets.

I get nice strand separation if I don't follow up the conditioner with anything AT ALL (no moisturizer or serum or oil). That is, if I run my fingers through the ringlets, they part easily instead of feeling clumped and sticky and glued together. I think it's due to how cleanly the Elucence MB rinses out. Maybe my cuticles are still smooth from the rollerset. Maybe less is more.

I am adding in an extra CO wash during the week to prevent any build-up. I'm also going to doing protein treatments on my hair. I'm tired of twistouts so now I'm perfecting bantu knots and wraps.

Since I got my regimen pretty much down, I'm trying new styles. I tried doing twists on dry hair with success, and now I want to try palm rolls.

i was using grease on my ends and now im back to just using hot 6 oil, i usually keep the front twisted so i can just do anything with the back and i try to massage my scalp as much as possible

ROLLERSETTING as much as possible!!! Although I hate the process I try to do it myself as much as possible! Im getting better at it as I FORCE myself to do it!

I too am trying to perfect my braidouts. I want them to look good every single time, no matter what (is that asking too much?

). I'm experimenting with twistouts too. I'm also working on cutting down the time it takes with my whole hair regimen.
