Do you find that it leaves your hair more "proteinated," even weeks later?

I am having to add moisture constantly.

Do You Mean as the Step prior to Neutralizing or do you Mean Mixing the Protein into the Relaxer itself?:perplexed

FYI: I am entering my 14 week Post Relaxer and plan to Self Relax at 16 weeks. At about my 10-11 Week, I began Co-Washing with a Protein Conditioner and using a Reconstructor Weekly to start to build up my Hair (prepping it for the relaxer) Because I know my Hair can tolerate a significant amount of protein and my hair has a tendency to be "weak".

Week 14, I did Clarified etc...

Next Wash Day -- Week 15, Again I will Co-Wash with a Protein Conditioner, Use Nexxus Emergency until the dryer no cap for about 10 minutes. Rinse and do 30 Minute Protein DC and a 30Minute Moisturizing DC and my leave-in's etc...will be moisturizing.

Week 16 --I will do a Protein treatment (Joico K-Pak Reconstructor) directly after Rinsing Out My Relaxer Prior to Neutralizing to put that Additional Strength back into my Hair especially because the strength of the relaxer totally breaks down the bonds of your hair to oblivion. And you will have to Build them Back Up.

I Always, Always, Always Follow Any Protein Treatments Up with a Good Moisturizing DC.

I have found with a Relaxer it takes a Significant Amount of Protein & Moisture. It is Always a "Balancing Act" And You are going to have to find/determine Your Personal Best, as Far as Balancing Out that Protein & Moisture.:yep:

I use protein in my relaxers and I don't get the proteinated (good word) feeling...it makes my hair feel stronger

I just relaxed this past Friday and I have been doing this since (adding protein to relaxer) since December of last year. I can really tell the difference - but during the relaxer process, I still use a moisturizing condish for my midstep ...

I also use AO HSR or AO GPB on dry hair overnight the wash with Kenra MS and follow up with Kenra MC....so I have not had any issues with dryness or too much protein...since my hair is so fine, I can use extra with no problem - I mainly use it in a form of a leave in...

I used Redken Real Control condish after a touchup

Okay, Let's Go Back To Your Original Question?????:perplexed Are you saying the Real Control made your Hair too Protein Enriched or....(NM) Now I'm confused. Help me understand.......

btw: You just reminded me of something, I am going to use Redken Deep Fuel this time instead of K-Pak before Neutralizing.:yep: Thanks for referencing Redken........:look:

Yes. My hair feels too protein enriched by using Real Control directly after a relaxer.

(can't believe I'm saying that) I normally think protein-enrichment is a good thing, and a source of strength. Just that this change in my hair = different hair care techniques. I have to use Elasta qP mango butter before i do anything in order for it to feel normal and soft and malleable.

Hmmm...interesting...I have used Real Control after relaxing before but I didn't get the protein overload feeling - this last time I relaxed I used a moisturizing condish - neutralized the used Graham Webb Thermacore and followed up with Kenra MC...
