I dk about the mention of the " crazy things" to grow hair because it's just about taking care of the hair and patience. Maybe early lhcf had crazy growth aids? Who knows? I've been here a while but I've only seen a couple growth aids that everyone seemed crazy about. One was a little out there but for the most part, everyone insists to Kiss keep it simple "sistas" (because I had to change the last s from stupid to something empowering , at the end of the Kiss :lachen: . Goodness knows we are not stupid)

She told no lies about the stereotype of black hair stylists doing your hair and then getting something to eat :rofl: then put you under the dryer forever.

The difference is that with my previous ones, they'd order food for delivery versus going out for food after your hair is all crazy out (it's half way combed, etc) but they'd still put you to the side while they eat. Not anymore because I don't stand for those types of hair stylists if I go to one at all as I usually do my own hair. And even when I have someone do my hair, they usually come to me anyways. I'm fine with someone braiding or straightening my hair at home, etc. In fact I prefer it. I had a lady in NY tell me "it's an extra $20" all dramatic like... and? I would pay way more to avoid the b.s in salons. It saves me the salon experience and time, plus the person is focused on me, so I'll take it. Regular salon treatment gives me shivers.
