Paging - Tracy or anybody else who colors

What should I do before I throw this dye in my head? It's one of the Natural Instincts dyes so it's not permanent but I want my hair to be as healthy as possible. Should I do a protein treatment before or a moisturizing one? How many should I do before I apply the dye?

AFTER coloring, do a protein treatment ( amild one) and follow with a moisturizing (go get Feria Color Moisturizing Treatment, any mild reconstuctor will do but the Feria will be a staple). Repeat this every other week. Every other time you wash, use a moisturizing conditioner.

And keep that hair moist!
