Hi there Sassygirl. I emailedd Kentucky Maid regarding the pressing model # KM51 and they said they normally don't send to individuals, but they will make an exception in my case and send it to me for $10.00 which includes shipping and handling. I'm so excited. I think that I'm going to get the other detangler pressing comb that looks more like a regular pressing comb. The trick I understand is using the back of the comb to straighten. I talked to my girl friend about the wider tooth comb and she said it probably won't do a good job in straightening. Well i just want to share. I was going to straighten my hair in February, but I think I'm just going to blow it dry so that I can go to supercuts, or a barber shop to get my dead ends trimmed. It's been over a year since I've had it trimmed and I'm starting to get those knots at the end of my hair. I hope wherever i go, they will not cut off too much of my hair. Right now it's 25" and by July I'm hoping i will have gained about 4-5" more. If they cut 2-3" off, it will be OK with me, but i don't want anymore than that. I trust a barber more so than a beautician so I hope they will do what i want.

That's nice of them to send you one. My aunt is going to send me hers when she finds it.

She paid $15 for hers. She also said it doesn't straighten very well.

It's supposed to get it straight enough for a smaller comb to go through. But most people find this step unnecessary. But I'm definitely going to give it a try.

Good luck on the trim. I dread the day I get my hair evened out. I'm also leaning toward a barber. I live in the South and most stylists don't know what to do with natural hair.
