Hi,

Are you still doing a pony puff.

I want to take out my braids and try this style. I am gone to look for a fake pony that looks like 4a/b natural hair. I do not know if I can manage to do a Conditioner wash every day, I will go for every other day.

Also what products have helped soften your natural hair. I have about 1.5 – 2 inches of growth, that looks kinda soft in braids but

I do not know how it will be looking once I take down these braids.Im transitioning.

Thanks.

I'm still wearing the fake puff. I'll be wearing it until my hair is a length I feel comfortable with wearing "out". At least another year.

My supplements have softened my hair a lot. MSM and EFA's like evening primrose, flax, etc. I noticed a difference in my new growth after a month or two of taking them. Henna conditioning treatments once or twice a month have helped me a lot, too. The debulking and kink loosening effects only last a couple of weeks for me, though. Probably because I wet my hair so much...

The best thing for my hair has been conditioner washes, leaving in a little regular conditioner and curl activator.

When I don't have time for a cond wash, I just spray distilled water and African Royale Daily Doctor on my hair and apply my regular products.

My apartment looks like bss warehouse, but I tend to use the same staple products: Pantene Smooth & Sleek for cond washes, S-Curl Spray mixed with Worlds of Curls or Proclaim Activator Gel, Elucence MB or Lafier Honey Almond Rinse as a leave-in and Palmer's Coconut Hair Oil on my ends. Once a week I use real shampoo (usually Elucence, Mode de Vie or Lanza Protein Plus) and deep condition. My favorite protein conditioner is Sally's Generic Joico K-Pak. My favorite moisturizing conditioners are Tropical Avocado and Le Kair Cholesterol.

Good luck with your transition!

Thanks for the advice and product recs.

One more year with the pony puff! You are really disciplined. I will try to go that long too. Its a good idea cos i can cut and inch off the relaxed hair maybe every two months.I will post my progress as i go along.

Good luck too with your growth goals

Not really.

I just don't know how to style really short, natural hair. I don't want to wear a little afro or hundreds of little twists. And I need a haircut, too. I look like Krusty the Clown when my hair is out.
