Hi. I have heard quite a bit about this expensive hair growth pill. Have any of you use it? If so, please give details. I want my hair to grow by a certain lenght by the end of summer. Is Viviscal worth the price or should I stick to the Vitamin Shoppe's hair, skin and nails formula ? I am not interested in using MSM because the side affects are not worth it for me. Any thoughts, suggestions or comments will be appreciated. Thanks!

I just took my morning Viviscal pill 15 minutes ago.

I really like this, and for me, it's worth the price. I get it cheaper at hairboutique.com. When it first hit the scene, it was like $70 per box. At hairboutique, it's about $50 a box. I usually get a 2- or 3-month supply.

I got my hair done the other day, and my hairdresser was commenting on how much new growth (1/4 inch) I'd gotten. I just got a touchup 3 weeks ago, so I count that as product of the Viviscal. It's a marine protein, so it tastes "fishy," but you get used to it. For some people, it doesn't work, or they get negligible results. To be fair, I didn't see jack the first two or three months I took it. I think I'm now in my fourth month of taking it, and I'm starting to see the results that made this a hot product in the first place.

I'd give it a try if you want to devote 3 months minimum to seeing how it works on your hair. If the vitaminshoppe stuff works for you, though, I'd continue on. I really want to try the Amino Acids even though I'm quite happy with Viviscal, and, in fact, am going to place another order sometime this week before I run out of pills.

I've been taking it since the summer and I alternate it with my other vit's and It works big time on me. I ahd zero nails and bam 2 weeks I havethick strong nails. But for hair results it took about 2 months to see something. I new it was the viviscal b/c I hadd been monitoring my growth w/ the other vits and now I'm getting 1'-1.25" per month.
You do have to give it a chance but it doesn't work for everybody, but it may work for you. Try one box and see, that's what I did then I ordered more when I saw results.

Viviscal takes about 6 months to start seeing results. I used it for a whole year and didn't notice any significant change in growth rate.

I took it for about a month about 2 years ago... my hair was in braids then. I didnt note any increase in growth rate, but then again, i wasnt even sure how fast my hair grew at the time. But on the other hand, when i took the braids out, i had a lot of new growth. Oh well, i guess i really dont have an opinion on it...

I used it when it first came out. I used it for a long time, at least a year but not quite two years. It only took a month to work for me but my hair growth rate peaked at 3/4 inch a month. This bummed me out because if Viviscal is said to triple your hair growth rate, then that meant I only got 1/4 inch normally. I stopped using it but now I get 1/2 inch a month. Either Viviscal didn't work as well as I thought or I miscalculated how much growth I was receiving. Either way, I never got an inch a month or more which is what I wanted/expected. I'd rather get 1/2 inch a month naturally for free.

I'm in my third month of taking visviscal. I haven't seen any real noticeable results but I think my eye lashes have gotten longer. I'm gonna take it for the full 6 months and then make up my mind.
