Soon my braids will come out, I am looking for an excellent conditioner and shampoo. I don't want to get anything that is drying so I need to know what works and which ones should I avoid. My hair is type 4A all over and prone to tangles. Thanks.

Hi Lakettab,

I am natural with mostly 4a hair which is approximately 6-8 inches when stretched (maybe more I really don't measure).

I only use shampoo once a week and I use pretty much anything that is either natural like J/A/S/O/N or moisturizing or even baby shampoo. Whatever doesn't strip my hair.

I use conditioner way more often, at least once every day so I'm somewhat of a conditioner-junky.

My favorites right now are: Elucence (it really leaves my hair soft); Pantene Smooth and Sleek; Tresemme for Colored Hair (it is very moisturizing) and J/A/S/O/N Biotin Conditioner (gives me a nice, tingly scalp).

I hope that helps.

I like Elucence Moisture Balance and Pantene Hydrating Curls as detangling, moisturizing conditioners and Glycogen Protein Balance by Aubrey Organics as a protein conditioner.

Creme of Nature Ultra moisturizing shampoo/conditioner (the green one) is good for days when you don't plan to deep condition. This always leaves my hair soft and manageable.
