Is it me, or is this spray quite drying? It feels nasty when I apply it to my daughters hair, almost stiff feeling.

Also, first ingredient is light mineral oil. How long do you give a product to decide whether it's for you (or in this case my daughter) or not?

I don't find it to be drying. I found it to weigh my hair down. I have thin hair and wear my hair down all the time in a blow out. So I stopped using it. But I have started surging and I spray this on my scalp after the surge and i must say that I have NO itchiness or reactions from the surge. So this is what I am going to use the ORS for from now on.

That is probably because this oil sheen spray, like many others, contain mineral oil. I have found mineral oil to be VERY drying on my hair. The only oil sheen spray that I have found that does not contain mineral oil is the one made by Protectiv.

I had to stop using it too because it made my hair feel weird. Kinda gritty. Same thing as their Olive Oil moisturizer.

not you..i bought it when i first went natural. i loved the smell of the spray although i was never a fan of sprays. (and i thought i was doing something buying OLIVE OIL..lol) but i eventually got rid of it for the reason of drying out my hair.

I do the same thing as Wolf. I spray Surge on my scalp and follow with the Olive Oil spray and I don't have any itchiness from it.

It doesn't leave my hair weighed down, it gives it quite a nice shine.

And the thing is, it creates the most terrible mist! Last year, it set off the smoke detector in my dorm room, and I was spraying my head around 7 something in the morning. That was so embarassing. Talk about pissing your roommate off....

Honestly, I love that oil shine. It gives my hair wonderful shine, I use all of the ors olive oil products. It simply woke my hair up.......I guess different stuff for different folks

I just found an alternative being lusters pink glossifer, I find the ORS too heavy and quite drying.

O.K, that's it then, i'll bring it along to the UK meet if anyone wants it!

ETA: Speaking of mists, I held it 10" from her head and it still looked like a pile of snow forming

I like to use it when I roller set my hair. I spray it on my hair after it's rolled up, then I sit under the dryer. It doesn't seem heavy for my hair at all.

As much as I love the scent, I also got rid of my ORS Olive Oil Sheen spray. It seems that all oil sheen sprays worked well at first but could be drying over time; so I decided to just use natural and essential oils exclusively. However, if your hair responds well to oil sheen sprays ORS is a good one, it has great ingredients like aloe oil and contains no alcohol.

Even though it's light, I think it was the mineral oil in it that my hair didn't like.

Botanicals is a lite oil that adds nice sheen with a good smell. It doesn't come in an aerosol can though. You just have to pump it out and massage it in nicely.
