I have the 1 and 1/2 inch jilbere solid ceramic flat iron... and that bad boy gets my hair STRAIGHT.... the only con about it is tht if u get the one that curls with the straightening pins along the outside, it can tug at ur hair if u put too much hair in it. but I love mine, I cant use it on the highest heat setting cause it just get too hot. oh I got it from Sally's for $39 or $49

I have one, the 1" one. It never got my hair as straight and shiny as my new CHI flat iron does. Personally, I feel like I wasted my money on the jilbere, because I ended up buying a chi flat iron after I didn't get the results I wanted with the jilbere. I mean, it got my hair semi straight, but not salon quality straight near the roots. I know others here like the jilbere. I prefer salon quality results at home and I feel I didn't get that with the jilbere, but I did with the CHI.

ETA: I have the solid ceramic one. This is the one I have... It also snagged my hair :(

I have the porcelain series flat iron and, although I haven't used it in about a year, it got my hair silky smooth and straight.

So, the Chi is probably a better investment? My beautician told me the CHI had some problems (like it sometimes came apart in use), so she gave me the Jilbere to use. I haven't used it yet.

I am 100% natural, and my hair is almost bra-strap length, so I don't know how good this thing is going to be.

Thanks for the responses so far, keep em coming :)

I had the Nano Tech 1" and the first time I used it had a burning smell. I thought that it was just because it was a new appliance but it still had that same smell after I had used it for a few months.:ohwell: I was scared that I would fry my hair and it never really straightened my hair anyway so I threw it away and bought a FHI and I must say that it gets my hair silky and I love it.:yep:

I have a Sedu and a purple Jilbere (don't remember what it's called). Since I try to avoid direct heat as much as possible, the Sedu is in the box put away and when I decide to lightly flat iron, I use the Jilbere on a low temp setting. Good results.

I've had my Jilbere ceramic flat iron for about 5 years now and I just tried 2 new ones from Sally's and ended up taking them back. I could not "grip" my hair between the plates with the new ones and my hair didn't really stay that straight with the new ones (glad I tried them in the summer). My Jilbere straightens really well. Best $40 I ever spent.

I have a ceramic Jilbere porcelain and a FHI. I don't even use my FHI because my Jilbere is great! The way it glides over my hair and straightens it, is amazing.

I have the Jilbere porcelain series as well, and while I'm totally afraid of straightening my hair to bone straight, it seems that I could easily get it bone straight with this iron. And with the exception of my jagged ends, it also got it very silky and soft.

I'm natural BTW and super coily/curly.

I bought the porcelain series Jilbere last month but I haven't tried it yet. I'm afraid of heat damage.

For those who use it, what temp do you set it?

I have one that I bought about two years ago...but I need to invest in a new one. It was ceramic plated and the coating has started to come off and it always gives my hair that "smell" so I will start experimenting around my birthday for a new iron.

I may buy a FHI or Sedu...my hair laughs at the Chi. It does nothing for my hair :nono:

I think that I may give this a shot in July. I am a little tired of going to the salon at the moment ... we'll see how this goes!

I have one.
I have the Tourmaline series...
When I fla hairon, my hair still looks fluffy, that is on its
highest setting....
I am going to reivest in a CHI or FHI

I have the ceramic tourmaline jibere.....grey and pink one
it straightens my hair and I can get to my roots with it but my hair puff right back up when I'm done.

this is the result the last time I used it.....it can out better this time after clipped my hair
