One more Henna question - Shampooing beforehand

I have one more question about henning. Do your shampoo before applying and does it have to be applied to dry or wet hair

I like to apply it to dry hair. I'm working with a lot of new growth right now and I don't want to manipulate the roots.

Do you ladies apply your henna on "clean" dry hair (no products)? This is something I'd like to try, maybe the morning after I wash. Although I think it would save time, I wonder what my results would be if I hennaed my hair 2 or 3 days post-shampoo.

I apply on dirty hair. Didn't notice any difference between the two.

Cool, this will save me so much time next time I henna! I use so much oil & moisturizer between 'poos, I was worried it wouldn't "take", LOL .

I apply to freshly washed and detangled hair. I've tried it on dry/unwashed hair but the amount of tangles I have afterwards brings me to tears. LOL
