Has anyone been to this salon and or tried the products from there? I heard the relaxer is wonderful!

TIA

Yes I went to the salon for seven years and had Donna and Todd(he's no longer there) for stylists. I still go back when I go back home to get a relaxer. They are pricey but the qualitity of the products and relaxer is top notch. I miss that place. I always paid $110 and that was not including my tips. It was well worth it besides I was only going at touch up time and not every week like some clients. If you can afford it I say go for it.

I went to Olive's as a broke college student but it was worth EVERY penny. The salon is top notch and they really care about hair health as opposed to just hair styles. Olive's is the only salon my classmates and I would frequent.

If you're looking for a salon in Boston, Danny's His and Hers does spectacular work. (Disclaimer: I last went to Danny almost ten years ago, so I reserve the right to be off on this one...)

I loved going to Olive's, but, my pocketbook didn't. I also got tired of driving two hours+ round-trip to get there.

If you are close or don't mind driving and can afford it GO! It's one of the nicer places I've gone to. My hair never behaved better when I did go there.

He done fell the hell off! That place is a HAM! but i havent been since "03 so i reserve the right to be off! He had a good rep thats why i went in the first place. but back OT i never been to Olive's but i did use to go to Salon Monet on newbury and their relaxer is $125 and up:perplexed

Thanks for the replies. I live in Califiornia, so I won't be going to Olives. I just heard that the relaxer is wonderful and was hoping the rest of the products are too.

If I could find a place out here that was really into healthy hair I would pay $110 for a touch-up. I think it would be worth it.

Is there anything special they did in applying the relaxer?

No nothing special about the relaxer application. It's just like applying any other relaxer. If you have stylist you want to apply it you can have him or her purchase the relaxer on Olives site. I was doing that for a short time when I moved away and still wanted to use her relaxer.

I don't know if I can honestly reccomend Danny's. That salon was crazy. Kramers's was worse in Copley square. They seemed to like to blow dry the hell out of my hair.

yeah, i do think their relaxer is amazing. When I went their in May, the stylist kept telling me i needed a corrective because my hair was breaking in the uderprocessed sections. I did it and it was the best thing i ever did to my hair and I think a lot of ladies face the same problem and most stylist dont have the education to figure out the cause.

When i got the corrective, it fixed my underprocessed sections and laid my cuticle down which left me with incredibly silkly shiny hair. I do think it was something in the perm that gave it that extra umph:D

Wow, I would sooo like to try them. I would love to have them do a corrective relaxer on me. I'm just so scared to have anyone touch-up my hair. The last time I had a hair stylist touch-up my hair, it started breaking off at the root. :perplexed That was seven years ago but I'm still scared. :(

Do you mind if I ask you who the stylist was that did your hair?

This is the ONLY salon Ive been to that i would allow to do a corrective on my hair. Olives is know for its education and knowledge about healthy hair. In fact, they often tour the country teaching other salons. So, I felt safe.

I had Maria. She is young but knows her stuff. If you want them to do a corrective. Id got and have a wash and set first so she can see where the underprocessed sections are and then the next week go in for the corrective so she knows exactly where to put the relaxer. She will be able to tell you if you even need one or not. Diana is great too and she has been in the game for decades.

Thanks a bunch!!! I'll check them out. I've been afraid to do my own corrective relaxer--been afraid that I'll cause irreversible damage to my hair.
