Good enough for what, Nessa? What are you using it for? Hot oil treatments? Or for your scalp & hair?

Hi Nessa

I use extra virgin olive oil(evoo) every week for my hot oil treatments. I just warm some up, give my scalp a nice stimulating massage for about 10 minutes and then apply it to the rest of my hair. I leave it on for a minimum of 30 minutes. Evoo is excellent as it helps repair damaged cuticles, protects your hair from the elements, and leaves a very nice, natural looking sheen/shine. U don't get the same affect with regular olive oil or with some of the lighter oils, such as jojoba for the hot oil treatments. I also mix it in with my moisturizing or deep conditioner sometimes for when my hair is feeling particularly dry.

U can use it as a moisturizer too as needed, especially for the ends and shafts of your hair, provided it's not too heavy for you. If it is then give coconut, jojoba or some of the other lighter oils a try.

HTH!!

I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the same way! I was exposed to the wonderful benefits of Olive Oil from some of my family... it has been used for hair and skin for years in other countries.

I use extra virgin olive oil (cold pressed) for weekly hot oil treatments. Sometimes I mix other oils with it, and sometimes I use my favorite coconut oil. However, olive oil thickens my hair which is my aim...it works great!

I use it in my pomade and when ever I want to add oil to my conditioner and do a deep conditioning under the dryer. This is one of my staples.

THank You all. I havevrgin olive oil. And I started using it on my head yesterday. It mosturizez well but my hair absorbs it so quick. So I reoiled like 4 times today. I just wanna use it for the mosture for my hair and scalp.

I may get this Evoo, even though I have virgin olive oil. BUt is olive oil's perpose to stop breakage, and make hair thicker?

Nessa, It does help prevent breakage and to balance the oils in your scalp, but it's not used as thickener, unless someone says otherwise. But there are other products u can use to thicken your hair.

And one more question. If it balace the oils in the scalp is that good? I mean does it um um make it similar to Jojoba? And it helps the scalp maintain a normal amount of sebumm?

Vitamin b-5 and castor oil can make hair thicker. Try S curl or CAstor Oil. Or take a vitamin that contains alot of vitamin b 5.
