Come on ladies, I need some help! I KNOW that there's life beyond Pantene S&S, so please let me know whatchoo workin' wit! I don't care if they're expensive, cheap, or somewhere in between!!! Which conditioners does your natural hair absolutely love??? And when you respond, please say why, whether it's slip, detangling, deep conditioning, etc.

BTW, for me, it's obviously Pantene S&S. I haven't tried ANYTHING that gives my natural hair quite as much slip, but I am open to suggestions. :look:

Giovanni 50:50 remoisturizer- Clarifying but doesn't strip my hair
Giovanni Tea Tree- clarifying but doesn't strip my hair
V05 Kiwi & Lime- clarifying yet moisturizing
V05 Tangerine Tickle- clarifying yet moisturizing
Dove Intense Moisturizing-nice slip
Herbal Essence- Fruit Fusion & Replenishing conditioner- Great slip & moisturizing

I know there's more. I just need to think...:ohwell: HTH

Daily Defense Tender Apple
Aubrey Organics Island Naturals Replenishing Conditioner
NTM Deep Conditioner
NTM Silk Touch Leave-in Conditioner

LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM ALL!

VO5 Tangerine Tickle: cleanses, plenty of slip, detangles, $0.79, ..and leaves my shower smelling very clean.

I usually use Suave, V05 or Trader Joe's Nourishing or Nature's gate for conditioner washes (cause they have no silicones).......BUT i've been putting about 1-2 tablespoon of honey for every cup or so of conditioner and let me tell you, it turns any of the cheapie conditioners to really moisturizing, frizz reducing, curl defining conditioners! I've been amazed, I've been doing this for about a week now and my hair is looking fabulous. If you try this, use 100% natural honey.

I'm gonna try this. When I was transitioning I tried adding honey to a conditioner & hated it. It may work better on my natural hair.

MeccaMedinah, I also remember trying it when I was transitioning and it was pretty useless. But I think I might have used too much as well. But now I love it....I'm hooked on the honey...lol :)

Daily Defense Tender Apple
Suave Daily Clarifying
Nexus Humectress
Suave Knock offs (Awupui or however the heck you spell it, humectress, biobasics)
Neutrogena triple moisture

VO5 Tangerine Tickle (Moisture/Shine)
Dove Intense Moisturizing (Moisture/Conditioning)

For deep conditioning I add warm evoo and put on a plastic cap for 30 minutes to an hour.

No product gives me incredible slip so far. I think my hair is just too dense and intense for that. Only thing that gives me great slip so far is direct water from the shower, then and only then can I comb easily through all of my hair with a wide tooth comb. I got this idea from MKstar826. Otherwise I must detangle tiny section by tiny section when I am doing braids or twists.

Lately I've really been using my hebal conditioner for my CO washes I don't think the price is too bad on this.

But my all time favorite Con is Lekairs Cholesterol and its Cheep, I use this for deep conditioning.

I don't have a leave conditioner yet.

Can't live without my Neutrogena Triple Moisture and Cream of Nature conditioners. Dove is nice for the price, too!

I've been blazing through my conditioner lately since I con wash almost every day. Here are my faves:

Elucence Moisture Balancing--LOVE IT. Super moisturizing and lots of slip. However, I think it's a bit pricey for my daily con washes (i'm just a poor college student). I was going to re-order since I'm out, but I think I'll buy something much cheaper for the summer. I'll probably go back to it in the winter when I need more moisture.

Giovanni 50:50--Mid-priced (depending on where you buy it). Good for daily washes because it is moisturizing but not as heavy as elucence so it doesn't build up. I use Giovanni direct leave-in, and I think the two work well together.

Jason Biotin--I've been using this a lot more recently as I'm out of elucence and am getting low on the giovanni. It is a very good *balanced* conditioner. It's supposed to be "fortifying" and it definitely lives up to the description. My hair feels stronger and more moisturized after I use it. Perfect balanced conditioning :yep: It also smells pepperminty and invigorating :lick:

Jason Sea Kelp--I ran out of this a couple weeks ago :(
Definitely one of my tried and true cons that I keep coming back to. Very moisturizing and has a pleasant scent.

The Jason conditioners are pretty cheap, and have nice, thick consistencies. I'm thinking about trying a nature's gate con or 2 since they tend to be even cheaper. Otherwise, I'll probably end up alternating between the jason biotin and sea kelp cons this summer :yep:

Daily Defense Tender Apple (DDTA) & Daily Defence Water Lily (DDWL).
Both are EXCELLENT detanglers, & moisturizers. DDTA "curls" my hair... DDWL seems to "stretch" it. I have DDWL in my hair on my 05/2005 siggy pic below.

(( I used to  Pantene S&S & Hydrating Curls... until I discovered Daily Defence :woot: ))

But a bit of bad news... Daily Defence has discontinued their entire line  ... so it may be kinda difficult to find...

It's so funny i came upon this thread because i just washed my hair and was raving about my conditioner. Not to jump on the Mane n' Tail bandwagon or anything but, Once i started using this conditioner as a leave in my hair has been feeling great! And I am retaining a lot more hair on my head which is really great. I wasnt shedding much before but now its like 5-6 hairs a day! So yea mane n' tail original conditioner, for its ability to make my natural hair more manageable and silky feeling;-)

CPR my true love for deep conditioning

I buy any of the conditioners and add honey and olive oil to it. I leave my conditioner on anywhere between 3 hours and over night.
