okay, for those of you who have had extensions (bonded), what is the best way of taking them out? i had some put in last thursday for easter (against my will), and i dont really know how to take them out. (this is my second and LAST time getting bonded extensions) the last time i had them i was told to take them out with oilsheen, and that took FOREVER and there were still bits of glue left in my hair. is there any other way i can take them out?

Hi,
I do not wear weaves anymore, but I did used to be a "weave queen". Anyway, the best way to remove bonded wefts is to coat it with an oil sheen spray. Any oil sheen should do, the oilier the better. Saturate it with the spray; wait a fe minutes for it to loosen up, and you should be able to lift it out pretty easily without losing any hair. If it doesn't lift up easily, keep spraying it until it does.

Hope that helps.

I had a bonded weave exactly ONCE and then I learned my lesson. I got it out with the solution (it's in a clear applicator bottle, the product is white) that's sold in BSS. Usually next to the bonding solution itself.

Please be patient when taking it out. I became frustrated and yanked a piece out that wasn't coming off as fast as I would have liked.

The result: two VERY large bald spots that took forever to grow back in.

I also used to use the glue remover and oil sheen as well. They both work about the same IMHO. Whichever one you use, apply it and let it sit for a while. And be careful!

I had a piece glued in for a special hair style I wore once and the best thing to use is baby oil. That piece slipped right out after I worked it in.

i got them out! i dont think i lost any hair either, so i'm happy. i washed my hair and now i've had conditioner in for about 10 minutes, so i'm going to give it about 20 more minutes and we shall see.. but THANK YOU LADIES so much for your help. i dont know how i ever made it without this board!

Okay I am a weave queen as well but I no longer bond my hair but i can tell you that Wonders 8 oil is the bomb!!!
