I don't know what's wrong with my hair. I have two sections in the front that have damaged, frizzy ends. I'm not sure what may cause this damage... as far as I know, I treat these areas the same as I treat the rest of my hair, and the rest of my hair is thriving.

I want to cut these damaged areas off, but I'm afraid my hair will look funny if I do that. I've attached photos. Should I cut the area off? I've been trying to trim gradually, but it hasn't been getting any better. Help. :(

Please excuse my wild eyebrows. It's time to get them threaded. And I would have smiled, but I'm sad about my frizzy front.

I think having a cut that layers your face would be pretty on you.

The areas does look frizzy. Are you sure it's damage and not just frizz from humidity?

Maybe you can baby them and not pull it into your bun. That could be the culprit. It doesn't look extremely bad. If I saw you on the street, I wouldn't think to myself "now she knows she needs to let those raggedy ends go". I do that all the time when I see women hanging on to dead stringy ends, however, yours doesn't jump out at me like that.

the pic is funny b/c it looks like you deliberately made those pieces like that but I have the same problem. My frizz is all along the hairline in the front, from ear to ear. Do you brush those sections often or put mor product/gel on those sections than you do the rest of your hair, like when putting your hair in a ponytail? I will be checking back in to see what the other ladies suggest may be the culprit and what you can do to fix that up.

Was your hair always like that in those sections, or is this something that recently became noticeable?

It dosent look damaged just frizzed to me ..I say baby it for a few months before u make a final decision

What do you mean by "baby" it? what extra steps should be done?

my hair was the exact same way. i figured they were split ends so i just had them cut when i got my trim. If all the rest of my har was curled, that part would never do so fully. maybe you could let it grow out and then cut it, or put in some layers.

I wouldn't say to cut it either. Give them extra daily moisture and try prepooing (if you don't already) to give those sections extra conditioning. Wait a while before you get the scissors. It really doesn't look that bad.

I was thinking the same thing until I noticed that those were the only sections frizzing like that. I was ready to say that it was the humidity too.

Plus I remember reading somewhere that relaxed hair shouldn't frizz, just droop.

I thought this was the case to ..but im relaxed and I tend to frizz if the weather is hummid or dont dry my hair all the way ...

you can trim just an inch around your face (face frame cut) would be cute on you. :) overall it doesn't look bad though

I would probably trim them off. I don't see the point in babying already damaged hair but if you are torn sleep on it!

I might ask my hairdresser to do the face framing cut. When I actually looked at my hair, I realized that the damage may be due to the fact that when I pull my hair back in a bun or ponytail, that hair is caught right in the ponytail holder - it doesn't stick out at all. Plus I do brush my hair to get it smooth. I spent so much time worrying about my nape and edges that I didn't realize that I could be damaging the rest of my hair. :(

Now I don't want to pull my hair back anymore... I would try rollersets or flexirods, but I don't have time to wash my hair every 3 days (I can't keep a rollerset past 3 days. :look: )
