but what exactly is serum for the hair? B4 you say anything, I'm new here so take it easy, lol. People say use serum on your new growth, I'm just curious what that is. TIA

I use a serum on my wet hair (and sometimes on my dry hair) to smooth my hair down and make it shine even more.

Serums are silicone-based, oil-like (but non-oily) products that smooth the cuticle of one's hair to produce a smooth, silky appearance and feel.

If you pick up a hair product with one or more or some combination of the following ingredients listed first, chances are you've found a hair serum:

Dimethicone
Cyclomethicone
Dimethicone Copolyol
Dimethicone Copolyol
Cyclopentasiloxane
Phenyl Trimethicone

Thanks for all of your replies b/c I had no idea what it was, now I do

Do most people use serums on their new growth ad would biosilk's feels like silk be considered one?

you can use it on newgrowth and all over. i just put it on my newgrowth when i am nearing touchup time and it detangles all my hair from root to end.
