I have not washed or combed(other than finger combing) in 13 days. I'm about 3 inches from brastrap and 13 weeks post. On the left is what came out in the wash and the right is what came out when detangling and roller setting. This is pretty average, right?

Wow thats average? I must be average then.

I always thought I had excessive shedding because so many people here say they loose about 5 hairs when detangling

Wow, I don't think that's bad at all.

My shedding must be excessive. I lose enough hair to make up a guinea pig each time I wash.:ohwell:

It seems pretty average to me. I would lose about that amount of hair (maybe even more) during the time that I was shedding.

The only thing I wouldn't consider normal is if you were losing that much hair everyday, all year, non-stop. I know that some people say that losing 50-100 hairs a day is normal, but I would think that's only normal during the period that your hair sheds....not everyday of your life.

I also think the longer your hair gets the worst the shed hairs look because each strand is longer ie looks like more hair. I think my hair sheds a little more than average but all of the strands are longer hairs so I am happy that it isnt breakage

Glad to know I'm back to normal again after a very bad relaxer. I'd forgotten what normal was.;)

yep!!! that's exactly how mine was too before I relaxed. I took pics to and will post by sunday on my picturetrail. I was 12 weeks post.

That is about how much hair I lost Wednesday when I did a touch up. I was 10 weeks post and I was concerned but the hairs was longer soooo I'm feel better now. I thought I needed a protein treatment. I'm going to do a lil treatment this coming Wednesday with Aaphogee 2 min reconstructor.:)

Thank you Lioness!! girl you know your hair is off the hook!

13 days? Well, dang. I lose that much in less than a week
I think sometimes people get a little over-concerned about how many strands they lose and it can make you wonder if you're losing too much because they're freaking out over 5 strands.
Seriously I lose several strands every day all year long and my hair isn't getting thin or short. As long as you have a general idea of what's normal for you and how much it varies by season, etc, you'll be able to keep an eye on any attention-worthy changes without making yourself crazy counting strands.

Thanks guys!!! I think the henna and the Eqyss survivor detangler work well together.

After the last 3 months of being scared on wash day:ohwell: I think the pendulum is FINALLY swinging back the other way.;)

What she said. I wish that was ALL the hair I would lose.
