What is a good recipe to transform dry crispy hair into silk even AFTER your dries?

Im trying to find a good recipe for a hair and body butter that will make my hair STOP feeling like HAY after it dries.

I don’t understand after I wash (usually conditioner wash) my hair, it seriously feels like silk, then when it dries its back to the HAY feeling again. I also use the roux porosity control after washing and I baggy whole head.

I just don’t understand?!?

it all depends on what oils and butters your hair likes.

my hair actually doesn't like shea butter by itself, and also doesn't like avocado oil even though so many ladies rave about them

I usually mix shea or mango butter with almond, olive and walnut oils.

also remember butters are normally used to seal in some sort of moisture (water, aloe very juice, leave in) If I just use a butter on my hair without some moisture underneath, then my hair will fell dry

ITA w/ SimJam. Mix oils/ butters that feel good on your hair. My hair likes hemp seed oil, so today I mixed some with aloe butter(aloe Vera extract and coconut oil) to try and make a pomade to test out.

Thanks ladies!

I havent really tried any butters per se, only store bought with a zillion other things in it, but now I want to make my own. And I will only use it after I have applied a leave in conditioner to seal.

I'll look into mango butter or avocado butter.

This is the recipe I use to make hair butters. You can take away the shea and use another one like mango. She adds a few oils, but you can always substitute for oils you like better. I used the exact products she used and I love the end results.

I do at times. When I do, I love Alba Un-Petrolatum Jelly as a base and add other oils to it (wheat germ, olive, etc.). Its a little looser/liquid than a solid butter, but my hair loves it.
