.....Inhale...Relax ....Relate....Release

Alright so I am out of town this week and I didn't take all of my staples with me. I had the bright idea to just co wash instead with Suave Coconut and Honey........Relax....Relate....Release

Ok so I get into the shower, rinse with hot water, through on alot of conditioner, scalp massage, then rinse out 4-6mins later. Already I'm thinking....my hair feels hard so I get a small dab of the conditioner and put that on my hair as leave in b/c I left my in shower leave in at home.

I get out of the shower, my hair doesnt' look like it normally does but the ends look ok.....I dab the towel on my head to get off excess water. Put in the NTM leave in, spray some Wondergro spray and put that on....still doesn't feel right so I add some Scurl......then I look down at my hands and there are a few 1-2 inch strands....no biggie. Then I pull out the shower comb so that I can comb my hair and part into some braids to air dry.....something I always do. After a few combs I look at it and see all these hairs...LONG hairs too which really pisses me off.....It has to be at least 10 which is alot for me. The other thing is my hair looks.....its hard to say, its not smooth....little loops are sticking up in random places...if that makes sense. WTF where did I go wrong.

So here are my thoughts...things I think could have caused it or that i did differently

*****In shower massage not a good idea

*****I normally pre condition with olive oil etc but I did not this time.

*****Maybe my hair was not conditioned enough to comb.

*****I'm 7 weeks post relaxer....maybe normal get your perm NOW shedding.

*****Maybe the water is hard or the pressure was to hard

*****Is it possible I'm over conditioned...and my hair is falling out

I'm at a lost...I'm sitting here debating on what to do now.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

i'm thinking its the fact that u need a relax. but then again, 7 weeks isnt all THAT long.

7 weeks post-relaxer without your staples probably is the problem. The combination was probably too much. The good news is it doesn't sound like something that can't be solved with a deep conditioner, a little evoo, and a relaxer. Good luck.

The last times I've traveled, I brought my staples in small containers, just in case. I haven't had to wash my hair away from home yet. I feel your frustration though Senimoni.

7 weeks post relaxer isn't that long. It doesn't sound like your hair is over conditioned either - then your hair would be very soft. The water could be the culprit but it probably is the combo of products you put in your hair after conditioner washing - NTM, Wondergro spray, SCurl. These products may not work together with each other and with the Suave conditioner.

Is it possible to buy your staples tomorrow and still work (maybe be late)?

If your hair feels hard to touch, its probably the water. Or, your staples may not work well together. I'm really moving to all Nexxus products, because when I use one conditioner and not the matching shampoo, (example: Super 8 Gin Gro Conditioning Shampoo and Africa's Best Hair Mayo) my hair feels weird. The Africa's Best did great, but the Gin Gro made my hair feel really dry. I hope this makes sense...sometimes the ingredients of different products don't work well together. Now I use nothing but Nexxus Shampoos and Conditioners, which has worked wonders for my hair (because of the consistency, and not trying a bunch of products like I used to).

I am 8 weeks post relaxer this week...I noticed my hair started to shed just a few more hairs than usual last week (7 weeks) and I just upped the # of CO washes. This has helped. I was CO washing twice a week and shampooing once a week. Now I'm CO washing every 2 days. I started oiling my scalp and new growth with WGHO at 6 weeks post. It helps me with my shedding. Sorry this is so long! I will still shampoo once a week.
