Ok, I\'m convinced... I\'m hot

hehehe,
remember the hair trauma that I was going through recently? Well things didn't turn out so bad. I ended up staying up until 4:30 am doing my twist out b/c I was still dealing with unhandled tangles. Well, I used Emergencee 911 + cold pressed castor oil as my moisturizer and applied this to each section, twisted, and then rolled with a small roller. Before I went to work I sat under a medium drier for 8minutes and then took the rollers out. My HAIR LOOKS SOO GOOD :-D :-d .
I can't believe how apprehensive I was about how my hair would look after taking my braids out. My hair grew a lot and the dang thing is shaking all over the place. This is very good news for me b/c I'm growing out a short cut. My hair looks bodacious and I am loving it. I looked in the mirror like 5 times today. I think i have a Narcissus complex or something :-p. Anyway, the twist-out is great. Thank u ladies for your advice about detangling the mess I was dealing with. I love the progess I'm seeing.

Re: Ok, I\'m convinced... I\'m hot

this sounds very good. congratulations girl. but i want to know something, you twisted your hair first and then put it on rollers? i really would like to know.

Re: Ok, I\'m convinced... I\'m hot

Nay, that's exactly what I did. I started doing this in December and noticed that it gives the appearance of more rounded waves, if u know what I mean. It almost looks like a giant leisure curl.

The reason why I started to use the curlers is because my hair isn't very long. The longest parts are around 8 inches give or take and the back, which I started growing out later on, is about 4 inches. The rollers keep everything in control and looking neat. I use the tiny litle blue rollers

Re: Ok, I\'m convinced... I\'m hot

This is great to hear. I suspected that you would come back with good news.

Always the first day when I remove braids my hair dissapoints me but after a few days it looks great.

I am happy for you...good going!

Jazzangel, that's exactly what I was dealing with. I was telling my friends how I didn't know how I'd deal with this head of mine. I must admit, my head looked a mess when I took the braids out

ok?

JenJen, It's been 4.5 months since my last touchup December 27th 2002. Intially I wanted to wait 4wks b4 my touch up, I usually do 2 but because I was so busy during the end of the semester I wasn't willing to take down my braids and worry about daily styling. I'm taking a risk by only waiting one week. HHOWEVER, I keep up on my conditioning washes and treatments during the whole time I had braids. In the last few weeks i've done protein treatments, moisturizing treatments, oiling the ends, massaging the scalpm oiling the scalp -- you name it. I tried to pamper my baby (my hair). The thing is, I don't even know if I want to do a touchup now. my hair looks fine like this. I've gotten compliments all day and I'm deaing with a lot of new growth here.

LondonDiva, I haven't measured my hair yet but it looks like at least 2.5 inches. My hair growth rate is pretty slow in the winter but as long as it's growing I have no complaints.

No, you're not!! It's the same with everyone who has a celebrity up on their avatar... It's funny cuz then if they post their own picture I'm like "Oh... ok..."

And on some of the avatars you can't really tell if it's them or if it's some famous person...

Re: Ok, I\'m convinced... I\'m hot

Thanks ladies. I'm loving the twistout look. I modified it AGAIN mainly because Im due for a touchup soon and sleeping with rollers in my head would just make my scalp tender. Well this style is like a twist out but i used chiney bumps aka bantu knots instead. Once I finished twisting and bumping each section I secured it with a bobby pin. It's much more comfortable than the rollers that I sleep with at night but it gives me a shorter look. It's still a cute style though...

thanks again girls. This crown and glory technique, the twist outs, this board, and all ur support is working out well for me.
