Ok I think I may color my own hair (Natural 3c/4a)...get in here and give me tips!!

That will be extra fab on you! I like the subtle (but that is just the kind of girl I am). If you were to do it yourself what would you be using and technique? Do you know any really good colorists in Houston?

If you want the bolder version, that is more than a 2 level lift which I don't recommend you do at home and all at the same time.

There are some ladies on here that are whizzes at doing their own color but I am just too chicken to try my own hand at at.
Both colors suit you very well and I like both but would certainly go to a salon to get it done. (simply because knowing me, I would end up with green hair and wouldn't be able to blame anyone but myself
)

I think if you really want some color you should get some. However, I would allow a professional to do it if you are going to get the lighter color. . Make sure you do your research on how to take care of your hair once you get the color. I had color when I was relaxed and it did nothing to my hair. It remained healthy. However, a professional did my color. I am thinking about more color now. I want a light brown. I was thinking of doing the texture and tones. It appears to be safe from the reviews here. Good luck

I say go to the salon. Two years ago when I got my highlightes done I got them really subtle and regretted it. So my vote is go bold and get it done at a salon.
