Ok...I BC'd and I must give back now!

Hi Everyone!

I am a seasoned lurker. I learn SOOOO much from you all and I was feeling guilty about not sharing my experience.

So, I transitioned for almost 9 months. I did my BC on May 7th and i was 9 months post relaxer on May 13th. My BC was unexpected, but i kept "trimming" my hair to the point that i was like "why the heck am i holding on to this stuff". I would stare at my new growth everyday like it was a freakin pot of gold! I know you guys like pictures...so here's a lot! I have a ton of them!

I wore it curly to work and honestly i was nervous at people's reactions. There are no people of color where i work. So, when i came in they acted like i was a martian. Honestly, they looked scared and disapproving. I haven't worn it curly since this initial experience.

What do you all think? is it unprofessional looking? I guess i need to build up my courage and ignore there reactions, huh?

Your natural, curly hair is very pretty. Folk probably were puzzled by the change and how you did that...could not have disapproved...they get curly perms all the time.

I can see that. When i started the job a year ago i had hair to my bra strap, and now i have a TWA. I think they are thinking "why did she cut all her hair off". The men are looking at me like . lol Oh well.

I need to build up my confidence. Sometimes it's lonely being the only one. But i have you all!

It looks very nice and moisturised. What do you have in your hair in the curly pics? What's your regimen?

I have Rusk Brilliance Leave in and then Curls Rock Amplifier over that. I think it was pretty dry on the outside, but damp inside. It takes a long time for my hair to dry closest to my scalp.

Ummm...regimen? lol Girl, i have HUNDREDS of products. And I am trying them all in various combinations. For a while, I was co-washing or washing with sulfate free shampoo everyday. But when the folks at work looked like they were gonna do an intervention due to my hair, I stopped.

When I straighten it i used Bed Head Control Freak and a little coconut oil after flat ironing it.
