OK, found out my MSM is a cheap @zz fake. Now what?

I put my MSM tablet in water last night to do the purity test. Yay, it sunk right to the bottom  . Figured, heck, since I can't use it anyway, let me leave it in there all night. This morning, it was floating oh so happily at the top, split in two  . So, is it not good for anything? if i double or triple the dosage, could I get some usage out of it, or no? It's Spring Valley MSM BTW.

I'm confused. I thought MSM passed the purity test if it sank to the bottom. The fillers are what usually float on the top, right?

You could try grinding up the pills and adding them to your conditioners and shampoos. I think there are some recipes on the Hair Recipe board for MSM conditioners.

I took this same brand b4 I switched to Nature's Nutrition MSM, and I loved my results, maybe you should crush it and then see if it sinks. I'm about to test the Natures Nutrition brand now and see what happens. I know one thing the powder form is toooooooooo nasty for my taste buds and if I could just finish this up I'll be switching back to the SV pill form.

ETA: Well I'll be darn, the Natures Nutrition sunk immediately to the bottom, and dissolved w/one shake, so I guess I'll deal w/the nasty taste if I'm getting the best MSM it's worth it. Now I am even more inspired to take it every day w/o missing a beat. *Big Grin*

Just to clarify: you're saying you liked your results w/Spring Valley, right?

Myco, it looked like it was all up floating at the top but I will crush it tonight and see what happens.
