Hi,
Anyone ever tried these products? If you have, are the worth the $$$ (<---b/c they are very expensive.) A coworker told me about this product, so I ran a search here. No luck.

TIA!

Sephora carries Ojon. One of the natural sales associates told me that this stuff was the BOMB and they couldn't keep it in stock! I just wasn't ready to shell out $45. There is a link to the product website on naturallycurly.com. HTH!

i would rather use palm oil and mix with stuff than spend all that money on Ojon since they said palm oil is one of the ingredients

I sampled some of the Ojon line at a new beauty store located right next to Sephora on 19th street and 5th ave in NYC. All I can say is WOW...it was nice. You can get samples to try at home at Sephora.

I too was checking this out but the price was enough for me not to buy. There was a black woman modeling this product and I couldn't believe the movement and shine she had in her hair. The "people with beautiful hair" have absolutely gorgeous hair (dark, thick, lush with deep waves).

This guy has this ojon oil sewed up. It seems you can't get it anywhere else but from him. He's making a killing!.

Where do you get palm oil? Is that it's full name? I saw it mention here a while back but I forgot what it was being used for.

Thanks!

I remember seeing posts on the palm oil too but can't find it for anything in a search. Anyway, their packaging just looks so nice!! They are expensive though and they list the ingredients to their products on the site.

I thought he said the Oil is actually from the Ojon tree ( hence the name). So is Ojon and Palm oil the same thing?

Ok, I found the answer to my question. I guess it is the same.

I bought ojon on qvc a few months back. I liked the shampoo, it was moisturizing, but the conditioner was not anything special in my opinion. The restorative treatment smells funny and I really haven't noticed any type of great difference in my hair. At the time I bought these products my hair was dry and breaking and I have type 4a hair. Two months later and I am still having problems with dryness and breaking. The serum was definitely not as good as NTM serum. This is my experience with ojon. Yours might be different. I'd try samples first or even whatever special on qvc if you have some extra cash to burn. But I'm not really that impressed with these products.

Ditto...plus Red Palm oil is less expensive

Thanks for the review, I think I will save my money and try some palm oil.

I think pure shea butter would give the same effect. I saw it too on QVC and the treatment looks like shea butter. I think I am going use my shea butter for rest of the year the way the suggested their oil by treating the scalp and hair and see what happens. :)

I agree I see a difference in my hair when I do not use shea butter.

Please do not waste your money! I think these products are truely overrated and over priced. Believe me I have tried more than my share of products in the last year. Between Ojon and Phyto products I do not know which is more over priced and did not do much of anything for my hair. So all I can say is enter at your own risk.

the "Ojon" nuts and the Palm Nuts look identical. I really don't think there is really anything called Ojon (I'll look it up). I really think they are trying to eulogize the Palm but under the name of Ojon.

on QVC the guy kept showing these people (who look black & indian mix) from Honduras and only attributed their beautiful hair to their use of the Ojon. We on LHCF know better than that. That Ojon is not the only thing responsible...It's genetics!!

I am currently using this product and I love it. I use the Restorative Treatment, Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. I love them. And no regular Palm oil does not have the same effect. My girlfriend has been using these products for about a year now and turned me on to them. She tried to substitute regular palm oil and at while her hair was wet she said she felt like it had the same affect, but once dry she saw a big difference. The regular palm oil did not leave the shine that Ojon left nor the softness and moisture. I have had my jar (I bought it from QVC and just got on the auto delivery system when they had it as a today's special value). The original jar I bought was 5 ozs, the today's special value one is 3 ozs I think. The five oz one lasted about 5 months for me. I use it as an overnight conditioning treatment and then I wash with the shampoo and then condition with the conditioner, leaving a little in as a leave in. I then let me hair dry naturally. Once dry I will apply again to my entire hair and scalp and massage in thoroughly. I then apply Jane Carter nourishing cream to my hair. I repeat this throught the week 2 times and start all over again when it time to wash my hair again. My hair is always shiny and I have no breakage since using the products. I am keeping this as part of my regimine. Don't get me wrong I am still a product junkie, but this one is a keeper.

Peace!

Edie,

Your comments are exactly like my mom. She has been using the Ojon Restorative treatment for over a year now. She is on her second jar. She uses it prior to rollersetting her hair and has not experienced breaking or shedding since using this product. And it really says a lot because my mom is frugal and doesn't believe in spending a lot of money on products. I am about to jump the Ojon bandwagon soon.

I have this and have used it off and on as a pre poo treatment. I've recently been doing a dry conditioning pre poo treatment so I haven't used it that much. Maybe I will dry it on wet hair today. It is too oily for my liking to use it on dry hair w/out washing it out. But if it will stop breakage, I'm willing to try harder. :)

You do not have to use a lot of it. The first time I used it, I used about a tablespoon. That's 4 times the recommended amount and it absorbed into my hair within 10 minutes. I thought my hair was moisturized, but apparently it was not. The longer I used it the less the amount was need. I only use a teaspoon now when I use it. I message a half teaspoon into my scalp and I use the rest on my hair. One of the Ojon representatives said that if your hair is dry, the product would be absorbed almost immediately, but as the condition of your hair improves, you would use less and less. I don't know what it is about this stuff, but it is definitely good.

I normally use a heap of the scooper that they provide. I'll use less and see what happens. Thanks!

I bought the hair treatment, and I don't use it by itself. It doesn't do anything more special than any other hair oil that I have ever used. Theyhype had me excited...but it truly wasn't worth it. So, I melted some and added it to one of my hair oil mixtures. I guess I am trying to make myself believe it is doing something! Ladies, don't waste your money on this one...
