Ojon products

basically I think most consensus was that it works ok but not for the price they want you to pay. I did see they had at the sephora's something that looked like a starter pack for 45.00.

I think it may be worth your while to try that if you're interested to see if you really like the products.

Are anyone familiar with this product, I noticed them in Sephora?

yup...i purchased their 'Try Me' kit for like $45 from sephora which includes a trial size of the oil, shampoo, cond, revitaliziing mist, and protectant. total waste of money in my opinion. i didn't notice anything spectacular that would warrant paying as much as it's being sold for. if u ask me the only reason the price is so high is because the ingredients are rare, not because it does anything magical to ur hair. the smell is the best part about the product, that i must say is fabulous.

I've used the Ojon hair revitalizer for about a year now and I like it, especially the smell. It smells like coffee.

Ojon's revitalizer is what we call a "pre poo". You use it on dry hair before shampooing. It is recommended that you use it overnight or a couple of hours before washing. I do notice a difference in moisture and sheen when I use it, as I have very dry hair.

The owners of the company are a married couple, Dennis and Sylvania. Sylvania is an Indian from some Island (I can't remember the name of it) and her ancestors used this tree the grew some kind of fruit that contained oils that they heated and put in their hair. I have seen the video and all of the natives from that Island do have very healthy, waist length, thick hair. On a visit to the Island, Dennis, brought back some of this hair oils and started selling it. The products have been very successful, especially for women with color-treated and permed hair.

Sephora sells a mini jar for $25.00. This is a good if you want to try the product without spending $45.00. It comes with a comb for application. They have a website (Ojon.com, I think) that you can get more info on the products.

I have used the product DAX spoke of and a few more. (I am to lazy to go find out whati have, but it is my fotki.) I liked the products I used.

UPDATE....Dax...I am not sure if this is the one you were talking about. (Ojon Haircare Restorative Hair Treatment) I am guessing it is. I really enjoy this one. (the one that comes with the lil comb.)

*I ordered my products from QVC.*

Okay, So I went to my QVC order history and found out what I order.

3.3 oz restorative hair treatment
5-oz ultra-hydrating shampoo
5-oz ultra-hydrating conditioner
0.5 oz conditioning shine serum
Ojon comb/scoop

Click Here for the kit above.
(I never used the poo and conditioner. Guess I should try those out. I like the rest of the products.)

I also have and like....

Ojon Hydrating Styling Cream Duo

So now I am off to look for my poo and conditioner. I don't think I would have given away something I have never used. Thanks for bringing this line back to my mind.

Cool, thanks for the info. I will put some of their products on my wish list.

Anytime. I hope it works for you. Let us know when you use them. (if you decide to get them that is.) I know I am trying not to buy anything until Jan 2007. Trying. We will see. lol

I found my products. Sad. Never used the poo and conditioner. I guess I will try them out to see if I Like them or not. This is just another example of me being a PJ.

I am adding the picture to my fotki since it's telling me it's to big to add to this post. (but it you looked at the link I supplied above, it is the same stuff.)

This is the part that I HATED about the revitalizer. It didn't even have an effect on my hair--and I used it overnight. To have it smell like burnt coffee didn't help matters either.

Never again...

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P136225&categoryId=C13569

that is the 5 piece kit that i got from sephora not to long ago. the resotrative hair treatment would be ok if not for making the hair ultra greasy. its like the consistency of peanut butter then u rub it in ur hands to turn it into an oil to put on ur hair either as a dc or before styling. too greasy imo. :)

i used a shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, and the ojon brown stuff in the jar...its supposed to be really good for your hair. i didn't notice a difference in my hair while using the products but i still have everything so now that i have better hair practices from joining this site i will give it a shot again. the one i have is for hair thickening so i'll wait until i have a fresh relaxer and need some body before i use again. the ingredients read pretty good so you should give it a try. they also have this line at Ulta now too.

i used the revitalizer. i really liked it and the smell. i think i noticed such a difference because my hair was damaged at the time.

I have tried them and I did not like them. I thought they were over priced and over rated. I have tried my share of products and if I do not like them I have no problem giving them to my girls at a Washington DC meeting.

Leticia,

Yes, the restorative treatment is in the jar with the little comb.

I did get my first jar from QVC. When I went to get my second jar they were out so, I went to the Ojon website and ordered and that's when I called and got to talk to Dennis, the owner, and he sent me a video. Sephora didn't carry Ojon products at that time.

I have to say that I don't think all of their products are good. I like the hair treatment. I used the conditioner for a cowash and it was horrible, right back to Sephora it went.

I agree that the restorative treatment is a little greasy but I did like the moisture it gave me. I used it before I found these boards and my hairdresser was inquiring about the products because she said it moisturized my dry hair and make it easy to detangle. My hairdresser now recommends the treatment to her other customers with problem hair.

Sephora give sample and every and anything you want. I leave out of there with a bag full of samples. I would get a sample of the products you want to try and see how you like them before you buy.

If anyone has Ojon products they would like to sell, let me know.

my friend swears by the restorative treatment and she has beautiful, shiny hair. it's too rich for my blood right now. i think my friend uses this twice a week, so I dare not ask her for a sample. i wonder if sephora gives out mini samples of these?

I went to this salon to buy Devachan's No Poo, well of course my eyes had to notice they sold Ojon products too. I was talking to this man about how I wanted the Revitalizer but it was too expensive--$56. He turned out to be the owner and gave it to me for $40.

I ran home to apply it. I LOVE the burnt cocoa, coffee smell. I have braids in now--with synthetic hair--but as soon as I put a little bit in, I could see how glossy and lush the braids got. I have my plastic cap on now and plan on sleeping in this and washing out in the morning. So far, I like it. I'll have to see how much moisture I end up with in the morning.

Wow, that is good deal! Talking to people help out huh. giggles. I hope you like it! I love the smell of it too. But I like the smell of coffee. :)

I agree with your statements in bold. You have me nervous about the conditioner now! lol. I will still give it a spin since I have it.

You know I went to Sephora and picked up 2 products and she only gave me 2 sample of perfumes. (I think I spent about 70.00 bucks) lol But at least she gave me something. But I am jealous. lol You got a lil bag. Joking.

You talked to Dennis! Wow. He and his wife seem to be so down to earth. I like that they are so hands on.

Leticia,

Sephora gives samples of every product in the store. The samples that you got from Sephora were probably the samples they give when you buy products, especially when you spend a lot.

Ask for samples of any product you want and they have containers to put samples in. I gotten samples of conditioners, perfumes, face creams, shampoos, even makeup. You are not limited, so get all the samples you want. This is Sephora's store policy, so if the salespeople act like they don't want to give you samples, ask to speak with the manager.

Yes, I spoke to Dennis at Ojon for a minute. Ojon is a small company and when I called to order I was chatting with the rep on the phone and she was telling me everything about the products and the company. She said that Dennis just happened to be there at the time so she let me speak to him so I could tell him how much I loved the hair revitalizer. He was very nice and sent me a free video and mini shampoo and conditioner.

Again, Sephora sells a mini restorative treatment for $25.00. I can't afford the $45.00 right now so I am stretching my $25.00 jar.

Okay ladies. I have to say I LOVE the Ojon restorative treatment! I agree with Dax and the detangling situation. The lady who braids my hair was amazed.

I have very coarse, thick 4a/African textured hair and the stylist was able to comb through my hair like nothing! I also forgot to mention that I'm growing out a silkener, so I have a few different hair textures going on, but she was able to get right through the new growth and the looser hair. And I only applied it to my braids (synthetic hair) so it reached all the way through to my own hair. So I can only imagine how this will be when my hair is fully out.

This product is definitely a keeper for me. I'm glad I only paid $40 for it, but if I have to I will pay the $56 because it worked that well on my hair!

Since my hair is super dry, I welcomed the "greasy feeling." It actually felt like a moist, oily feeling. I got my hair rebraided and I applied some as a leave in treatment too. I'll probably apply it once a week.

Definitely feeling this!

edited to say: I'm feeling this so much, I'm adding it to my siggy!

Thanks so much for the info on Sephora. I wish I knew this when I was there. I go back to Dallas In a few months and I have to take back my product. If I had a sample first, I would have never gotten it. (not the Ojon some skin stuff.)
