Thanks 4 our nail *****!
:yahoo:My hair is curling Yay! :yep:
I would show pics but my camera is not good enough to really show details.
But my hair is curling. I have DC adding both alma powder and oil to my conditioner and this last time I sat with heat on under my new Gold and Hot bonnet attachment (which was 9.99 and therefore wonderful) then I co-washed and sealed the ends with a ACV rinse.
:orders:<< I have more curls then ever!
My hair is a mix between 4? and straight and I want it all to curl. The sides are straight from my love of wigs and this alma stuff is making them curly again. I still have straight pieces but there are less of them and most have some sort of wave.
My hair is still cravin moisture so I don't know what else to do there, I have honey added to everything. Since alma is moisturizing and I like what its doing so far I added some to my co-wash conditioner too. I probably just need to drink more water. But does anyone know of a natural curl activator? Are there conditioners you use where you see more curls or define your curls better?

Hi, you have a great head shape for a short cut.
I would suggest that you try coconut milk. Yes, the kind that comes in a can at the grocery store. That makes my hair curl and provides moisture.
I have also seen ladies use regular whole milk. The lactic acid does something for the curls.

Where did you get those things from in your title?
I bought something on ebay and someone used them in my feedback so I copied it and saved it in a file I have stars too!

I have a can of coconut milk right here!
Do you use it as a DC or a pre-poo or a co-wash should I use heat? I may try this tonight.

Honestly, the thing that makes my curls pop is cowashing and then leaving a little of the condish on it then spritzing my hair with water, aloe vera gel, castor oil, a little condish, and hawaiian silky 14 n 1..then i airdry.. i been doing this since i did the BC and it works for me.. HTH

You can definitely rock a twa!

I think you will need to play around with different products to see what your hair likes. A leave-in conditioner with a quarter sized dab of Castor oil makes my curls pop. Fantasia gel doesn't work for me, but Ecostyler and KCCC mixed with KCNT does make my curls look nice.

This is very interesting. Have you tried "World of Curls," "S-Curl" or "Curl Activator"? Most of those products have good ingredients. What about Miss Jessies or Kinky Kurly products (get from Whole Foods).

Actually Amla is NOT moisturizing, it's actually acidic, it along with the acv could be why you're craving more moisture. Although it's wonderful (Amla) for adding texture, darkening the hair, & strengthening the roots. You might want to include Bhringhaj, Bhrami, or Hibiscus to your mix.

Thats what I get for getting my info all over the place! :wallbash:
I have Bhrami but I didn't know what to use it for.
Thanks
I only did the acv thing once and to be honest I don't think I like it even tho my hair felt softer it was weird...>?< I dunno I guess I like my build up.

You're welcome, I use Bhrami for growth, strength & moisture, I use it in my tea mixtures, cw, & dc, but beware of adding too much of the moisturizing powders as well because they will loosen your texture a bit. This why they help me stretch my relaxers, I have heard of a few naturals complain of this. I would keep the measurements on the powders even and go from there. If you feel like you need more of one or the other, feel free to tweak as necessary.

I am enjoying Amla as well. I've only used it twice but so far I don't find it drying. I did follow with a hibiscus and nettle tea the second time, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the moisture I was left with. I will definitely try to incorporate it in my routine and be consistent with it.

Your TWA is amazing, really nice shape!
