O.K., You have to at least consider dreadlocks after seeing this!

Those are not sisterlocks.
Sisterlocks are tiny uniform locks that are the result of a precision parting grid, and
the use of a specialized tool that places the hair into its locking formation. The
Sisterlocks method does not require the use of waxes or jells. The small size and
parting grid form a lock that is easily styled.
She started her locs with two strand twists, no specialized tool or parting grid.
They're gorgeous nonetheless!!

Pft. My hair can forget sisterlocks too. I would end up Big chopping all over again if I had to maintain those.

Her hair looks beautiful. I just wish she hadn't started the locs so far away from her hair line.

Has anyone heard of "thatavonchick"? I she a member here? They are so so tiny, like regular strands of hair and I love the curl! Are these sisterlocks? This would make life so much easier, but it's just so....permanent.

Sisterlocks is a branded process/technique so when people have them that's what they call them. They don't refer to them as dreadlocks.

Okay, these are sisterlocks. Much smaller. I couldn't imagine maintaining those!

Everyone starts out wanting them as small as possible but I haven't seen anyone who didn't combine them over time.

I doubt that she started them that way. It is probably something that happened over the years.

Her hairline makes me NOT want them.

I wonder if those locs are too heavy for her hairline.

Even if they weren't, you can tell the tension at the hairline is too much, especially if she wears her hair like that for any length of time.
I dunno, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Her locs look very similar to mine when I had them-- the size, length (mine were a lil bit shorter) and color (mine were also a lil bit darker/redder).
I started mine with braids though. I had them for almost 5 years.

They do reek havoc on your hair line; that's why I hated keeping them twisted/done all the time because I was scarred it would make my hair line even thinner.
Also some of my locs had gotten so thin at the root that they started to break off.

So that's the reason that I just cut them off like 2 years ago.

*sigh* this makes me miss them though.

They look like sister locks to me but I'd let some of the experts chime in before you accept my word for it.

They actually look like traditional locs not Sisterlocs, SL's are usually quite smaller like 300-500 locs on one head.

now THESE are sisterlocs, that have been twisted together and curled

videoprofits is part of the reason I decided to use the SL method for locing....:yep:

I have about 365 sisterlocs and they are very light on my hairline :yep:, they are not hard to maintain...AT ALL. Every few weeks I go to get my newgrowth added to the loc (retightened).

All is use is shampoo, oil and water. I have no other need for any other products and I don't have to concern myself with trims or protective styling. :yep:

I'm getting those fake locs put in one of these days :-)
idk if you can do it on relaxed hair or i have to have a certain amount of NG but i would never have them permanently i'm too damn indecisive!!

Locs when done neatly/maintained look so darn beautiful (and shes a prime example of that). If it wasn't for it being permanent, or me liking to pass a comb through my hair, or the fact that I have a really weak hairline, I would get locs in a heart beat!
