Hey Ladies!

This post is in conjuction with my other one about me loosing my hair. I have a wonderful dermatologist, but I don't have a regular doctor. I think it is really hard finding a good one who will listen and spend time with me and my concerns. I have been to too many self-centered snobs who think they know more about my body than I DO!

Can anyone in the NYC are recommend a good doctor? He/she just needs to be in the 5 boroughs because that is all my insurance will cover.

Thank you so much.

Love,
Balding in Brooklyn

I could recommend one in Harlem. She is less than a block from the train. She is an older AA woman. The only problem you might have with her is that with your appt. there is a good wait to see her. Like your appt. may be at 5 and you may not see her until 5.30.

She is my mother's doctor and I am thinking of switching to her. My doctor is faster and she is nice. She's on 90th and Columbus. The only reason I'm switching to her is because she spends no more than 5-10 minutes with me. This other doctor spends 20 minutes with each patient.

Let me know if you're interested in receiving any info by PM.

I'm sorry to hear about your hair problem and it's good to see you back on the board.

Hey Pumpkin,

My doctor is pretty good. He is a man but he's very professional. I love that he takes his time and let's me know everything he's going to do before he does it. I've never waited for him more than 5 minutes. He is on 77 and Columbus. Let me know if you want more info.

Wow thanks NYC LADIES!! I am looking for a dermatologist and also someone to look at all areas of the skin including the scalp. Would a derm be able to know what particular products you need for the scalp like they do with the face? God bless you all.

Carmen I have a feeling that we traveled the exact same doc path - I used to go to that woman in Harlem, and swtiched to the one on Columbus - how funny!
